Leslye Headland's play BACHELORETTE provides the kind of exhiliration that one can only get from watching a live performance.

This excellent comedy - about three rip-roaring drunk and stoned twenty-something Mean Girls who decide to trash a hotel room the night before the wedding of their "best friend" - features pitch-perfect acting (the six-member cast includes Tracee Chimo, Carmen M. Herlihy, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Fran Kranz, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Katherine Waterston) and direction (by Trip Cullman) and ultra-sharp writing.

Alternately hilarious and bitterly sad, BACHELORETTE is my pick for production of the summer.

And all five of you who'll read this should try and score a ticket before its run ends at the end of the month.

Tickets are absolutely impossible to come by. I've been trying every which way for weeks. And I've got ways. Nada.

I got in via the cancellation line two weeks ago.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

How early did you get there? I haven't given up yet. :) I REALLY want to see this, and regret not going before that great review in the Times!

I put my name down two hours beforehand, and got in around fifteen minutes before curtain. It was totally worth the wait--don't give up!

They do standing room in the back. That's how I got in. Just go early and try to get on the waiting list. Or call the box office and ask if they have any general admission seats left.

Once again, Tracee Chimo absolutely steals the show. She's so freaking amazing.

I really enjoyed this show! It was both extremely funny and incredibly disturbing and sad. All the actors really played their roles well and gave strong performances. I got to see the show for free because I was ushering, and they said that the show is completely sold out until the end of the run. There are a few standing room spots you can try for, it's a small space and the view is completely unobstructed.

Definitely try for cancellation or standing room!

I liked the show, though I would definitely say it is more drama than comedy.

Does anyone know the runtime for this? Thanks!

90 minutes, but it starts a bit late every night (7 or 8 minutes) to get all of the audience seated.

I had seen the movie a few months ago and just purchased the script. After finishing reading it and re-watching the film I found the on-screen version to feel much more of a well rounded story. I wish I could have caught the show while it was running, especially curious to see how Celia Keenan Bolger portrayed Katie, that role seems so far from the type she is normally cast as, but I'm sure she was fantastic.
