Having just seen and loved Cinderella, we were disappointed however at the lack of a songsheet and call out to audience members....

First line and then hopefully some helpful comments about the show. Not sure why I appear to have offended so much, but there you go!!!

Any Rush for NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1912? May 24

Try emailing the producers..they're really helpful and hands on. We were there Sunday and the doors weren't open when they should have been. This guy who identified himself as a producer apologised and rushed round to another entrance to sort things out. They were also pretty quick emailing new tickets and making contact when the 7 and 2 Sunday performances were compressed into one at 12.30. Mind you, another producer (I think!) inside wasn't too impressed when we said we'd enjoyed the Menie

Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 previews May 4
2013, 05:15:57 PM
We're seeing this on 19th May at 7..the last show on our trip from the UK. The 5 songs on Dave Molloy's website are great. Does anyone know if any more of the songs are about? I'm still a bit unsure about timings.....do they start dinner service at 7 (for a 7 show) or the show itself then, with dinner before? What time do you recommend we get there? Our tickets are indicated as discounted through Playbill. Do they have separate sections for Playbill discounts, Broadwaybox discounts, reg

Leadingplayer...I saw Steadman as well...but nowhere near as good as Imelda Staunton more recently (and Matthew Horne was pretty good)

Matilda Casting? Jul 21

We saw this the other Monday with substitutes for both Mrs Wormwood and Trunchbull. The show was absolutely superb. RSC casting will mean whoever you get will be great.

The Ladies Who Lunch Lyric Question Jun 6

A matinee, a Pinter play, Perhaps a piece of Mahler's Isn't it (as has often been said) as likely to be Gustav? Beaten to it by one minute!

Anyone see Danny Boyle's Frankenstein at the movies? Worth it? Jun 4

It's worth seeing with either actor in the monster/Frankenstein role. Having seen several shows at the Olivier, the presentation really captures the atmosphere of a show there.

After her great performance as Momma Rose, I'd go with Caroline O'Connor.

There seem to be productions of this great show everywhere in the world, apart from the UK. Are the rights being withheld for the UK? Is no company interested?

Unless Chris Farley was around in the 1750s, the answer is probably no.

Smash - Series Discussion May 2

Ivy knows who Dev is. She gave the look. Dev should know who Ivy is, but in his hard done by Dev world, I'm not sure he does. Plus he's been more than nursing a few bourbons...

The Bollywood number didn't sound very Bollywood to me..more like a 1980s boy band song.

Singin' in the Rain and Meet Me in St.Louis on Broadway? Apr 19
2012, 05:22:10 AM
Top Hat has been touring for six months or so before opening in London. They have about 15 in the pit if I recall. They sound not bad (which is more than can be said for the dancing)

Caroline O'Connor to star in London revival of GYPSY Mar 28
2012, 04:48:57 PM
I'm seeing this on Sunday. If it does go into the West End, I find it hard to believe that the National will be doing it next year, particularly with Nick Hytner having a somewhat different view of classic musicals to say Trevor Nunn or even Richard Eyre ( current and past Directors of the NT respectively). I think I'd rather they did Follies....

National Theatre Live... on screen Mar 26
2012, 02:37:25 PM
In the UK we also have National Theatres of Scotland and Wales, which both have different ways of working. Neither have buildings, and both do their work in theatres and other spaces throughout their respective countries (and elsewhere...Black Watch from NTS was in the US a couple of years ago)
