I’m seeing it Sunday. It will be my first time at Paper Mill. I also saw the production at Ford’s Theatre last weekend. I’m on a bit of a 1776 kick right now.

I was wondering how they had such an elaborate set in the TV studio. The other thing I kept thinking is, it must be uncomfortable dancing in a three-piece suit.
Speaking of 1776, I got a ticket yesterday for the production at Ford's Theatre, with performances beginning March 13. Looks like it's selling well. Seemed like an appropriate thing to do during the 250th year.https://www.broadwayworld.com/washington-dc/article/Fords-Theatre-Unveils-1776-Cast-and-Creative-Team-20260113

But it always struck me as odd that the Post hired a critic who lives in New York and writes primarily about Broadway theater, given that DC has such a vibrant resident theater scene of its own. Looking at Kumar's bylines in the three months leading up to his layoff, I see only two DC reviews: GUYS AND DOLLS at Shakespeare Theatre and IN CLAY at Signature (Virginia). Meanwhile, nearly every Broa...
I saw it today. The theater was packed, but the auditorium was one of the smaller ones in the multiplex. Bad decision on their part—they could have sold more tickets. Not crazy about this as a filmed production. I don’t think it worked. I was bored, which I wasn’t when I saw it in NYC. I could imagine the people walking out in 1980. And I got really sick of Gussie.

I was thinking about going to see this tomorrow, but now I guess I won’t.

Hopefully he didn't get a paycut.I'm just guessing he won't be able to get comp tickets at Broadway shows anymore?"I doubt that he got comp tickets. That’s unethical.
I never saw it, but this thread makes me want to. I started playing the HBO version last night--just got a few minutes in before it was time for lights out. How does it compare to Broadway? I sooo love the theme by Thomas Newman and the opening cross-country shot.

Remember Come From Away had a pre-Broadway run there."But Ford’s is under the National Park Service.
