I have come to declare my love for all things Debra Monk and to help her out-post the crazy playbill lady.
re: Bill Irwin's LARGELY NEW YORK

I saw it in San Francisco. It was the first time I saw Bill Irwin and I was just in awe of his incredible talent. The show was just mesmerizing. I would love to see this show revived and share this with my friends who missed it the first time out. Do you think it would have to be with Bill Irwin? His stamp on the show seems indelible. Who out there do you think could pull off this show?

Chicago: from the 1926 play Chicago which started as a Yale Drama School project called The Brave Little Woman which Maurine Dallas Watkins based on her articles covering the cases of Belva Gaertner and Beulah Annan. Whew.

My mom's song would be Can This Be Love from the show Fine and Dandy (1930). Lyrics by Paul James. Music by Kay Swift.

My song would be You've Got Possibilities from the show It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman (1966). Lyrics by Lee Adams. Music by Charles Strouse.

OtherDaryl, I almost choked on a Cheetoh just imagining that, Ha.

How would West Side Story work with:

Maria - Dame Edna
Tony - Harvey Fierstein
Anita - Kristen Chenowith
Bernardo - Nathan Lane

Brian Stokes Mitchell can't be Elphaba. He's too busy being Eliza to Harvey F.'s Prof. Higgins in My Fair Lady.

Did the tour of Bye Bye Birdie with Tommy Tune (and I think Ann Reinking) ever get to Broadway? Or was it a touring production only?

re: If there was a Broadway Museum, what would you like to see on exhibit?
 Jul 5 2005, 12:33:29 AM
How about an exhibit featuring the gypsy robes from year to year. Another room devoted to set models. Of course the museum cafe would have to serve Mrs. Lovitt's pies, a lot of spam, magic beans, etc.

Ooh, they could get the big inflatable ho that they used to decorate the theater for the Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public.

re: I'm scared to see Lennon...
 Jul 5 2005, 12:09:37 AM
Please, give Lennon a chance. I know you always get the same SF people on these Lennon threads begging you to give it a chance. Go watch it for the incredible performers. Go to enjoy John Lennon's music. Just go.

I can't help myself when Rocky Horror is on.
re: How many Cast albums do you own?

177 and still growing.
re: How do you file your cast album Cd's?
 Jun 27 2005, 02:02:42 AM
Everything in their original jewel case with their booklets. Alphabetical. With multilple recordings, by year. Two cd sets before highlights.

re: Has anyone seen Lennon?

I loved Terry Mann, he was so funny! The rest of the cast is fantastic as well. Hope you enjoy the show.
re: OK L.A. - Who felt the earthquake??
 Jun 17 2005, 02:45:01 AM
Seems there was another 6.9 quake off of Eureka just now. It rattled the glass on the hutch a little (I'm just south of SF) but what are the odds that I'm reading the earthquake thread and another one happens?

OK in Californina the odds are probably even.
