NEXT TO NORMAL mailer?
 Mar 17 2009, 03:36:40 PM
Did anyone else get it today? For the $60 tickets. It's a really nice mailer...on the front of it is the purple picture of the house and it says "one family is about to face the music" and it unfolds into five flaps...one side shows Dan, Natalie, and Gabe each with their "it only hurts when I...." quote across it and on the flip side it shows the info about the discount and Diana (the only full headshot on the mailer) and it says "It only hurts when I breathe." The other flaps have a quote fro

I totally agree with WAT on Negron vs. Gomez.

I thought Gomez was alright in the role when I saw it in previews (struggled vocally) and when I saw it for the second time in November, he was REALLY straining. INUTIL was close to painful to sit through. Negron is a much stronger singer and is a lot better in the role than Gomez, IMO.

But glad to hear Miranda got the sendoff he deserved. He's incredibly talented and I can't wait to see what comes from him next.

I saw it the other night and hated, hated, hated it. All of the performances were terrible in my mind especially Cross. I really did not like it one bit.

re: 9 to 5 Cast Recording?

Broadway.com is ridiculous.

And, I agree, I think 9 TO 5 is going to surprise a lot of people and be a huge success, possibly bigger than BILLY ELLIOT. Which could give it a push come Tony time...plus it will be fresh in the voters' minds.

I don't think anything can beat HAIR at the Delacorte's exit music. The cast and audience dancing onstage to LET THE SUNSHINE IN...I still could hear the music playing halfway out of the park.

Broadway Baby 2: what color are we dyeing it? And I'd hardly call theater a "dying art form." Not very positive. Sure a lot of shows have run into trouble the last few months but it's not because theater is a dying art form it's because of the recession and other problems that were inevitably going to affect Broadway. There is a lot of talent on Broadway right now and a lot of new talented writers and directors making their mark nowadays.

And if you're reffering to it "dying" in t

Witty is spelled w-i-t-t-y, bwaybud. But nice try.

Piven is full of sh*t and both Macy and Butz are leagues better than him in the role, so good riddance. So annoying.

Is there a list somewhere of all of the productions that opened in 2008?

It's hard for me to compile one without a list in front of me...
