Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story.

Just saw it.

I'm still thinking about it.

Just wanted to *raise hand* also...

I think this Broadway mainstream fad should end. Let's not fill any more theaters with movie-based musicals, or overdone, tired revivals.

RENT... November. I think.

Hopefully hopefully Assassins!

I'm definitely more of a Lippa fan... but both are amazing.

RENT, November 2006.

Awesome.

re: songs you hated at first but now love
 Dec 4 2006, 03:15:51 AM
"Wicked Little Town" - Hedwig and the Angry Inch
"Once In Awhile" - The Rocky Horror Show
"Let's Walk" - The Light in the Piazza
"Christmas Bells" - RENT (I know, I know... blasphemy)
"Contact" - RENT (Had to see it live)
"It's De-Lovely" - Anything Goes
"I Get A Kick Out Of You" - Anything Goes
"A Summer in Ohio" - The Last 5 Years

Some of these are blasphemous, I know...

re: Bring Rocky Horror back to broadway

*sigh* I did Rocky Horror back in October... I miss it.

I would have to agree with most people here in that even though I love this show, I too don't think it could do well on Broadway at this moment. If it were to open today, perhaps off-Broadway would be a better place.

... and then Hedwig could open right next door.

What an area that would be to walk through.

re: it really annoys me...

It drives me nuts how RENT starts with the house lights up. I never like that, in any show. ARGH. The first time I saw it, I thought there was something wrong...

Hair
The Fix (wasn't exactly on Broadway, but someone should definitely bring the show back and modernize it)
Dreamgirls
A Little Night Music

re: Matthew Morrison in As The World Turns

...he's beautiful.

I've been watching the show (just to see him, really) and his talents are severely underused, IMO. I was so glad to hear he was leaving.

Though, I won't get to see him every day.

*sigh* here's to hoping...
re: What songs from your favorite shows do you want your favorite actor/act
 Nov 1 2006, 01:22:30 AM
John Cameron Mitchell: The entire Hedwig show. Right there. In fact, Miriam Shor, Stephen Trask, and everyone else needs to be there also. In costume. *//end fantasy*

But if I had to pick one... John Cameron Mitchell singing "The Origin of Love"

Others:

Raul Esparza - "See Her Smile" from Tick, Tick...BOOM!
Matthew Morrison - "Il Mondo Era Vuoto"
Michael Ball - "Losing My Mind"
Jonathan Pryce - "The American Dream"
Raul Esparza et al. - "The Time W

How was it???? I'm dying to know!

I'm going to NYC on Saturday... I'm so pissed we weren't going earlier, I would have loved to have seen this.

re: What show would you be absolutely devestated about if it closed?
 Oct 27 2006, 02:32:23 AM
Phantom of the Opera...

What would the Majestic do? They should just rename the theatre.

I too am really upset about Wedding Singer...
And was extremely upset about The Rocky Horror Show...

But other then those, I think I could get over everything else closing pretty easily.

When they try to do GYPSY and the sets are too big for the theatre and they are falling down on tech crew.

God help us.

re: Helena Bonham Carter To Star as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd Film
 Oct 22 2006, 03:43:11 AM
...*sigh*... I'm going to have to agree that they should have at least used Patti.

...why...? Why do they do this to movie musicals??

Stop this madness.

That's what happens when you become one of Burton's little proteges.

I mean, I love Johnny, but I don't want him playing Sweeney.

...*sigh*... wouldn't it have been fantastic if they had cast Michael?

I don't dislike Helena, but honestly...

Stop the movie musical madness before all the wonderful theatre dies a horrible death in Hollywood.

re: Sybil
 Sep 27 2006, 04:28:02 PM
I didn't know they were doing that... why??

WHY RUIN SUCH A FABULOUS FILM?

*despair*

I have no idea how I will ever see another actress playing Sybil either... sad, really.
