re: NYTimes & Photos: Henry Miller's Theatre to Reopen on Broadway!
 May 3 2009, 09:38:38 PM
The first play i had ever seen as a young teenager was @ The Henry Miller Theatre. In 1966, Play: The Subject was Roses. Which I believe had moved to 4 to 5 theatres at that point. Less expensive to move a show in those years. It starred Maureen O'Sullivan, Chester Morris and Walter McGlyn. The understudy for the young soldier and the stage manager was Dustin Hoffman.

As a young kid I was AWESTRUCK by the entire experience and has kept me going to the theatre for years to come.

4/26 - Scott vs. Ripley, Benanti vs. Murney

I go back to my original post from a few weeks ago. That most everyone called "OLD SCHOOL".... BUT is anyone 40 years from know going to remember: Laura, Julia, Kristin, Alice, Sherie......

The way people remember 40 years latter: Gwen, Liza, Elaine, Chita,
Mary, Ethel......... call me what you will........

BUT IT IS MY TRUTH........

re: The Greatest Musical Actress of this Generation - The Bracket

there are NONE......No CHITA's, NO GWEN's, NO LIZA's, NO ALEXIS'
NO ETHEL'S, NO MARY's, No ANGELA'S..............not even
a SUSAN JOHNSON or a NANCY WALKER in today's mix.........

Those everyone are listing, aren't even knock-offs or poor
imitations of the ABOVE GREATS.......

As Bette would say " WHY BOTHER"

I know this sounds kind of off, but about 2 months ago.
Someone had posted a ton of 3 sheet posters & window card posters
dating back to the 1950's. I was in New York from Los Angeles last week and mentioned it to one of the owners from TRITON GALLERY
(in their new location).....The owner was very interested. Your profile showed a very attractive man. Can you re/post....so
Triton can get a look @ your collection
Thank You

Give em' the old RAZZLE DAZZLE!: The Official Chicago Love Thread
 Apr 5 2009, 09:33:36 PM
the one & only CHICAGO was in 1975 with Gwen, Chita, Jerry & Mary
Gypsy's Gene, Paul, Candy, Michon.
This revival is a poor imitation

Anyone else agree?

The Best Musical Opening Ever
 Apr 4 2009, 11:44:11 PM
The Best Musical Opening Ever was

Will-a-mania from "The Will Rogers Follies"
Cady Huffman coming down those rows & rows & rows of stairs.
With those "AWESOME" "LEGS".......Nothing better....OPPS!
Till Keith Carradine swung in on on his rope......

re: Chicago 3/30 - horrible horrible sound
 Apr 3 2009, 08:26:39 PM
CHICAGO REALLY CLOSED in the summer of 1978
After Gwen, Chita, Jerry & Mary left the show
This revival is a poor imitation of a "CLASSIC"
