THE GREAT GATSBY Opening Night Critics’ Reviews  May 6 2024, 08:32:21 PM

PipingHotPiccolo said: "that GMA performance wasnt half bad (though sounds like Jordan struggled with that note at the end)."

I’m thinking about going to see this. I have hated almost every critically acclaimed show that has opened this season. Maybe I’ll be into a giant spectacle.

ILLINOISE Reviews  May 6 2024, 08:02:13 PM

Someone in a Tree2 said: "So many of my absolutely favorite posters on this site have raved about ILLINOISE since its Armory shows, that my husband and Ihad no choice but to book great seats (Orch N 1, 3) for this on our whirlwind NYC trip last week. For context, we knew nothing of the score save the glimpse of it shown on the teaser clip on YouTube. And we're generally big fans of Mark Morris and Matthew Bourne's dance work.

Sorry to say... (yeah, that's all y

“Only $165” has to be the saddest thing I have read on here in a while. Well, I guess that’s how things are going. Every queen in town is willing to pay $250 to see Jinx Monsoon off Broadway in Little Shop and they propelled Oh, Mary to Broadway by paying $190 for top price tickets at the Lortel,a theatre with sight lines and a rake s

STEREOPHONIC Original Broadway Cast Recording Thread  May 1 2024, 09:44:11 PM

Act one is an hour and forty five minutes. Various boring conversations between the characters add nothing to narrative. The double conversations taking place at the same time is right out of playwriting writing 101. Nevertheles, this thing scored 13 Tony nominations, so I clearly know nothing. Whatever.

ILLINOISE Reviews  May 1 2024, 09:20:05 PM

Does anyone dislike this thing or is just total love? I recently saw it and my opinion definitely does not match the raves posted here or from the critics.

STEREOPHONIC Original Broadway Cast Recording Thread  May 1 2024, 08:36:22 PM

The music was great but this bloated piece of crap did not deserve 13 Tony nominations. So many parts of this could have been edited to make a tighter script but as it stands, it is a massive mess. And before the usual attacks come, I am well aware that I am in the minority in thinking this.

I find the yelling security staff to be obnoxious and the lines to be irritating when there's a lack of clarity about Will Call vs ticket holders (especially when there are a ton of comps/TDF/rush tix to be picked up at will call), but I've never been anxious about it.

I've found Nederlander houses h

Is this accurate? Do you need program notes to understand the plot of this show? Then again, they had program notes to help audiences with the plot of Les Miz and that was ridic

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews  Apr 24 2024, 11:46:19 AM

Did anyone see the production in Boston at A.R.T. in 2010 when the Emcee was played by Amanda Palmer and Fraulein Schneider was played by a man in drag?

That is a solid respectable review and it just sold at least one ticket (mine).

I saw the production in London, and I agree with all of your points, but this is inaccurate. That scene has always been placedafter the title song.

Your other criticisms are 100% valid though.

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews  Apr 22 2024, 02:18:57 PM

Believe the bad reviews. This is easily the worst production of CABARET I have ever seen. The pre-show is a joke. Why are they playing modern trance music in a club that is supposed to be in 1930 Berlin? Zero chemistry between Sally and Cliff. Eddie is ridiculously over the top. The spinning in the round stage is fun for about 5 minutes until you realize this is the only trick they have. And am I crazy, but aren’t we supposed to find out that Sally had an abortion BEFORE she screec

I don't think the list you c&p'd bears out your assertion but you are obviously entitled to your opinion. Understand, though, that my observations (assuming I was within your target) were addressed to a smaller sample (the degradation to which I referred) and the scope on which the OP focused (NWS->Bway). I hardly think you are suggesting that NWScontributed to the "quality
