This is one of the worst ones that comes to mind. I find it mildly disturbing... there's something almost indecent/frightening about it!

It's one of my favorite plays... grew up watching the 1956 film. I don't think it should ever be played for camp. The only "campy" thing about the original movie is the tacked-on scene after the end of the movie. The 1985 movie was God-awful. They may have kept the original ending, but nobody could act to save their lives. If they revive it, casting is essential to the play's success. You need people to play the roles believably without falling into melodrama.

Jesus Christ Superstar- The plot/songs are ridiculous enough, but boy was that horror fest filmed in a terrible manner! Gypsy (1962)- The only amazing thing about this movie was the gorgeous Natalie Wood. I thought her performance was flawless... one of my favorites from her. All of the songs were completely lackluster, and even though Rosalind was dubbed with another actress, they didn't bother using someone with great vocals to provide the singing voice, in all fairness.
