Ice Cube as 'Fagin' in Oliver Remake... Jan 19 2018, 10:30:30 PM
My understanding was that this was going to be a separate musical adaptation of the novel, not an update of the classic version. It still makes me want to violently vomit.

Shows which tour as 'Broadway Musicals' but not from B'way Jan 9 2018, 06:15:06 PM
Reading this thread makes me a little weary of seeing the Cabaret tour next month. I heard it was really good when the tour started, but it’s since gone non-equity. Hope it’s still good.

Alice Cooper cast as King Herod in NBC's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR LIVE Dec 10 2017, 09:52:46 AM
I’m actually really excited about this. I hope this show goes for a more raw rock and roll sound over a Broadway/pop feel. I just wish Chris Cornell was still with us to play Jesus.

Will Chase went to my high school (decades before me).
Not a broadway actor, but Johnny Depp attended my middle school briefly in his youth.

re: What shows did you do in high school? Sep 6 2017, 11:19:05 PM
Unfortunately I wasn't involved in any of the shows my school did. I stayed out because there was a lot of teenage drama bull**** with much of the cast and crew. I really regret not participating tbh because I only recently discovered a real appreciation for theatre
Freshman year: a straight play adaptation of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Apparently they attempted to do Grease a few years before and was such a colossal failure it was cancelled during rehearsals

Will great comet ever come back? Sep 6 2017, 10:57:58 PM
Well it looks like a little project from Dave Malloy is coming out next year at the Actors Theatre of Louisville
https://actorstheatre.org/shows/little-bunny-foo-foo-2017-2018/
A kids show from the author of Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play with music by Dave Malloy. Not sure if it's a premiere piece or not, but it's cool to get a Malloy show in my home state (unfortunately I'm too broke to go to NYC). I actually really hope they do Comet at Actors Theatre and other regional theaters. Hopefully the tour will be good (and maybe comes somewhere relatively close to me).
