'And I Am Telling You' this is the most offensive, outrageous, and hilarious rendition of the song you will EVER see performed! Jun 5 2011, 06:49:37 PM
This is rich on so many levels. Totally made my day.

MUSICALS- the film? or the stage version? your pick. May 14 2011, 09:41:37 AM
@ fashionguru_23 Thank you. Thank you so much. You echoed my sentiments exactly. I like the cheesiness of the film version A Chorus Line; but when juxtaposed with the stage version it isn't even in the same league. Maybe it's because of what they did to the score. It's so--80's (i.e. too many synthesizers.) I liked the documentary of the revival, and if they were to remake the film I think that they should do it somewhat along the lines of that or Modern Family and The Office, a documen

MUSICALS- the film? or the stage version? your pick. May 13 2011, 06:24:02 PM
I'm happy you beat me to the punch, because I was going to post something along these lines but you conveyed it so much better. That being said, I agree with best12bars: West Side Story The Sound of Music Chicago Oliver! I would say those are the best. There's no doubt that I love Sweeney Todd on stage and it's heads above shoulders better than the film; but I love the atmosphere that Tim Burton makes and I love how the Paris production at Le Theatre du Chatelet inc

Book of Mormon Performance Cancelled - PLEASE HELP! May 12 2011, 09:50:48 PM
Stubhub is the site I tend to use. Sometimes you'll pay an arm and a leg for the tickets, but they're legitimate so it's worth it.

Free Streaming of Book of Mormon Cast Album May 9 2011, 08:45:04 PM
I've been listening to a couple of songs (because I'm going to see it and don't want to ruin the whole thing for myself) ever since 1am this morning, and CANNOT stop. I'm so glad that I pre-ordered this! I agree with IdinaBellFoster, when Nikki M. James reprises the 'Sal Tlay Ka Siti' melody in 'Man Up' I just get so pumped. I've been singing that, 'Hasa Diga Eebowa' and 'Hello' all day long. The songs just get better and better.

Michele, Benanti, O'Hara, and Parker in the running for FUNNY GIRL... May 6 2011, 03:27:32 PM
A (the only one?) poster on The Post mentioned Krysta Rodriquez and I thought, "Duh." Did/does anyone else thinks she'd do a good job?

Sweeney Todd in Paris - Stunning! May 6 2011, 02:45:26 PM
This looks absolutely amazing. Good God, how I miss full orchestras.

Michele, Benanti, O'Hara, and Parker in the running for FUNNY GIRL... May 6 2011, 02:34:51 PM
I personally love the idea of Leslie Kritzer or Marla Mindelle playing Fanny. And though people might say that they're too old (or older for the role) I would love the idea of Laura Benanti or Julia Murney. I think Lea Michele could/should do it if she doesn't overact because that ish is annoying as hell. Also, she (Lea) already sang 'My Man' numerous times including this years Musicares and on the upcoming Glee: The Music, Volume 6 so we already know she's gunning for it.

Tina Turner's 'What's Love Got to Do With It?' for Broadway? Apr 9 2011, 01:50:17 PM
I'd be al over this in a heartbeat.

Lea Michele singing "My Man" at 2011 MusiCares 2011 Mar 27 2011, 02:01:53 PM
Did anyone hear hear it? It's not bad--but Barbra is Barbra. Someone said " sets the bar high and blows it out of the water" I'd like to punch that person in their dirty dirty mouth.

Your Most Hated Musical Mar 21 2011, 04:53:39 PM
Dear God! I believe mine would have to be 'Grease'--I still think the movie is better. The 2010 revival of 'Promises, Promises.' Loved the cast but the music sounded dated, the song additions were unnecessary and 'Turkey Lurkey Time'-by FAR my favorite song/number-was completely butchered in every aspect, most glaringly the choreography. Also 'Beauty and the Beast'--thank you Disney for turning into George Lucas and raping my childhood! This is the #1 worst show for me. A Disne

BREAKING: SCRIPT DOCTOR FOR SPIDERMAN: TOTD Feb 16 2011, 09:06:26 PM
I agree with Katurian2 and Scarywarhol. Seeing the show last week I was under the impression that most people were there to see a train wreck, but thankfully everything went off with out a hitch--no glitches whatsoever. Personally, I thought the first act was good but that the second act was unequivocally horrible (to those who have seen and/or heard about it, once they got the the “shoes scene” in the second act I clocked out.) Yes it’ll probably get postponed yet again, and who

@ JRB “Also, I’m sure there a plenty of people who agree with you and thought that Hunter’s group was started with sincere intentions. Maybe it was maybe it wasn’t that’s for you to decide...or ask Hunter...” I’m sure that I am not really saying anything new or that you don't already know, but facts are clearly what no one apparently has. There nothing but opinions. Also, I have to agree with DAME. After awhile, al of this back and forth becomes repetitive and eve

@ JRB Once again, that is your opinion. You said: “So, what IS that group about? I joined it early today because I thought that group was started with sincere intentions.” Thus, I gave you my opinion. The group itself states that it is: “A group for all actors, directors, writers and fans who want to see the Tony awards celebrate the excellence of Broadway by allowing those artists who have made theatre their livelihood to take a more active part in its

@ JRB I heard about plenty of screwing around on both coasts. I don’t prefer one over the other. I enjoy films a much as Broadway (though I would never move to Cali.) and I am quite aware that no one can control who is going to take their craft seriously and who is not. As previously stated the only thing I’m a little biased against/about are certain actors taking to the Broadway stage. But those are actors and opinions I’ll keep to myself. No one is perfect, everyone fails or scr

@ PRS LOL and @ JRB You’re right. Everyone does have their own path that’s why I said, “It’s unfair but hey, that’s how it is and I didn’t write the rules.” There are actors from Hollywood that also have worked their butts off and stage actors who do get a break quickly in their career. My statement was a generalization, if I got into it it would probably be a bigger diatribe than before. But, sometimes it feel like some Hollywood actors come ove

“change the channel” is just an expression. In the same vein of lets just move on. People do not have to agree with me. The fact that people have varying view points makes a discussion interesting. Also, the only thing I said close to disparaging that I said was that the I didn’t like AI, I thought that Green Day shouldn’t have performed three songs and that although I thought that Montego should’ve won I do not think that CZJ was undeserving of the award. No one is the thread maybe sa

Okay, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so here is mine. First and foremost, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. The commenters on this board are just as bad as the ones in Hunter’s group so get off it and change the channel already. People can say what they want to say. Now, I can see both sides of the fence on this issue and everyone makes some form of a valid point. I like Green Day as much as the next person (though I don’t care for the American Idiot musical)
