Dare I mention the Mr. Magoo Christmas Carol (I'm sorry, I still love the whole razzleberry dressing). And, Gregory Hines' short-lived Comin' Uptown.

The only show I've ever worked on that I hated unconditionally. The only plus is that the movie is so much worse.

So, we're trying to pick our next season and we've been doing cold readings of the shows that we're considering. We read The Women of Lockerbie this past Saturday and at the end of it, the four women were grabbing for Kleenex and the three men were suspiciously quiet. It is heart-wrenching. It takes place in Lockerbie, Scotland seven years after Pan Am 103, the investigation is over and the US gov't is going to burn all the clothing recovered at the crash while the women of Lockerbie want to

Comin' Uptown. A Harlem version of A Christmas Carol. Lovely adaptation, some beautiful lyrics, and a case of bad timing. Alas, as it was the late Gregory Hines' baby, it's chances of return are even slimmer than they have been.
