Which performance of Celebrity Autobiography was cancelled? How far in advance of showtime were people notified?

Do you mean he is making West 42nd Street look better with new/updated theaters, or he is remounting a revised production of the Broadway musical called "42nd Street"?

I enjoyed it very much. As always at Roundabout, a professional set design, whether it was the restaurant, the office, etc. Very talented cast with several Broadway veterans. A cautionary fable of what can happen if someone tries to get ahead at all costs. The character we last see on stage had so much happen to herself, family and coworkers because of the decisions she made. A crisp tightly edited 95 minutes.

I wouldn't recommend either. The 7:30pm show let out at 9:15pm and felt way longer. The 5 to 10 minutes of fight/punching in the air etc are certainly pleasant enough to watch, but not enough to sustain the remainder of the show. Didn't feel "real" to me. Wow, they received $4,300,000? Just wow. Perhaps they should pare back their productions like most other nonprofits, to those that are more likely to turn a profit, so they can pay a living wage.

What is the running time? Prior reviews listed 1 hour 55 minutes with no intermission?

This version was pretty bad. I remember seeing it years ago on that tall stage at the 47th St Theater and really enjoying it. But this version came across as an amateurish cast for 3 of the 4 performers (with the exception of the lady with all the stage experience). I didn't know several of the shows parodied and this version unhelpfully didn't announce the show name before they parodied it (unlike prior versions of Forbidden Broadway). Perhaps they will concentrate on only 1 or 2 shows a year now. It was dizzying they had 4 shows in just the past month, at a time many people wanted to still be at the beach or outdoors after work. I also find it hard to believe the only church they could find is in an extremely inconvenient location, especially when weekend and/or weeknight 9 30pm+ trackwork diverts the 6 train, making an already arduous commute completely insufferable.

Inundated (playing thru tomorrow) was one of my favorite shows at the York since it finally had 2 accomplished talented actors in it. Rather than some of the new faces in recent shows who were terrible actors and gave the shows they were in a clownish amateur feel. They were very foolish if they pushed Jim Morgan out. He loves the theater and knows what the Upper East Side audiences want to see. The sudden announcement means he was pushed out.

I actually loved it as well - was tightly trimmed at 75 minutes and held my attention with no "dead spots". I like how they get into "deep talk" instead of the superficial talk that they referenced and it's a sweet touching story that flies by. Such a welcome improvement from the shows they've been having on that stage recently, and I hope they keep it this way.

Seemed more like an academic exercise than a poignant theater piece to me. I'm usually horrified at Holocaust shows, but here I felt absolutely nothing. The extreme 3 hour length significantly hurt it. Needed at least an hour of cuts.

The (good?) news for anyone who scores a cheap ticket is now they appear to have closed off their balcony due to extremely poor ticket sales and virtually the entire prime orchestra is unsold for all upcoming performances, so everyone who goes will score a prime seat at box office pickup. How can this stay open? Also, why wouldn't they pick better casting? The only person I know is Taylor Trensch and the rest of the people I never heard of.

Weird decision to keep West 45th open to traffic (while massive hordes of people were squeezed into barricades while tons of shows were going on, making it New Year's Eve-like-gridlock) but shut down West 44th to cars. Very unpleasant with crowds on West 45th unless you wanted to walk outside the barricades and be VERY close to passing cars.

Dramatically inert and one-dimensional "fake" acting. Didn't believe one word out of anyone's mouths and 5 minutes in, I knew I was in for a looooong 95 minutes. Truly awful show. On the other hand, I was (mostly) impressed at From Here playing down the hall, with strong singing & great acting, esp from the two lead women (mom & best friend), although it could use a 15-minute trim and dropping the distasteful comments about Roseanne Barr and doing cocaine.

The one-man show Clowns Like Me at the DR2 theater, originally scheduled to close August 18, is now closing on July 28th.

Without getting into off-topic politics, I will say that when you reduce supply (such as hotel rooms), prices go up. And while I feel very safe in the gayborhood along 9th Av between 43rd and 57th, I feel a very different vibe along 8th Av between 20th and 50th these days (and 9th Ave between 34th and 43rd) - lots of people acting up, behaving erratically and loitering.
