Disney•Pixar’s COCO musical adaptation in development
 Jan 25 2023, 12:40:02 PM

Really do hope if this happens that the Lopezes are mostly kept away from it. Obviously keep Remember Me but what makes the movie stand out so well musically is the songs from Adrian Molina and Germaine Franco that don't sound like the Disneyified numbers you usually get. I know Molina is working on his directorial debut at Pixar, but really would like Franco involved in the songwriting to make this really special

I actually agree! I would combine Un Poco Loco with the song Imelda sings as one big number, with curtain falling with Miguel heading towards Ernesto's with Hector and Imelda lost without Miguel. Think there's strong potential to make a big act 1 finale with those two musical moments and still with strong emotion in the middle.

The film already essentially has a solid two-act structure, with "Un Poco Loco" being the clear act 1 finale. Obviously extending the song would be required but it'd be a great breaking point for intermission.

Coco would be refreshing and an awesome show to adapt. Kinda already has an Act 1 finale in it too. Just don't get the Lopezes on it; get the other songwriter from the movie.

(Also, Moana, but Lin is likely too busy for that right now)

Tootsie - Chicago tryout

I saw this last night, and I really enjoyed it! It was my first Yazbek show, and I haven't listened to The Band's Visit or his stuff. A very funny night and I liked the music a ton. All four of the leads shine; Stiles really only has one song she reprises a lot but it's super funny and falls under the type of patter song I'm really into. Fontana is a force, it's definitely his show. I loved Lilli Cooper in SpongeBob and she stands out here even better. Grotelueschen i

Final update if anyone wants to know how this turned out: we saw Come from Away today from SRO which was really fantastic. Like I'm still blown away by how incredible the production was. We already have orchestra seat tickets tomorrow for Iceman Cometh and I'm really excited for that too. This has been a great trip.

Thank you all! It looks like tomorrow morning we will be lining up early (hoping to get there by 7am) for Come from Away tickets at Rush. After that, we will stop on over to the Golden to see if that code works there (I can't get it to work online). If we can't do that, I may try to convince my father on Iceman's matinee but if not, I'm sure we'll find something (I'm thinking Angels, Once On This Island or Band's Visit). Unfortunately, it's unlikely we'

Hello! I'm someone who has been browsing these forums for a couple of months now getting ready for my Broadway trip to celebrate my graduation. However, my dad insisted he had all the research down for this trip, and I, against my better judgment, let him take the reigns. We are now in NYC and my father was counting on using TKTs for all the shows we were planning on seeing, but both Three Tall Women and Come from Away aren't offered at that level. I had a couple direct questions
