It will never be Song Of the South
Anything else is in play although Tarzan's failure may set them back a bit. I believe a lot rides on Poppins. If this does a Chitty & Tarzan tanks, all bets are off

I'm hoping that you meant after the ones we already know about. Obviously Mary Poppins and the Little Mermaid are coming (as far as we know that is). Ummm.... The biggest suspects are going to be the bigger movies. I think a stage version of Mulan would pretty much kick ass, but that's just my opinion.
Also, for some reason there are auditions going up later this month for Finding Nemo. So I'm not too sure what that's all about and whether or not it has anything to do w/ Disney, though I don't know why it wouldn't.

Despite what Disney thinks, not every animated movie will make it as a musical on Broadway. I think they are about to find out the hard way

As mentioned above, which you must have missed.
FINDING NEMO is a show they are mounting ONLY in the theatre in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park where TARZAN ROCKS used to be.
It is NOT a Broadway production.

Mulan will not be explored as a stage musical for awhile...though I agree, it could be a real great show if the right creative team were assembled...

POCAHONTAS is the next logical step.
The songs are wonderful and it could have some great sets/effects.

Actually I think his work in "Pocahontas" was some of his best.
It certainly beats rhyming "Nessa" with "confess-a."

At this point, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they tried to put "High School Musical" on Broadway.

My buddy at DT says of course its Poppins in late 2006. Mermaid is gonna be the real tester. If Mermaid goes over well, then they'll get to work on something else soon.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I would probably cry if they put "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" on Broadway. That's my favorite Disney movie of all time!!!

Well, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Mulan, and High School Musical are all being developed solely for amateur and regional productions (in the MTI Broadway Jr. catalogue)
Mary Poppins will do well, then we'll see how The Little Mermaid goes. Afterwards, Pochohontas seems likely - either that or a Disney-produced musical not based on a Disney movie (like Aida)
