I was extremely bitter to see her lose for her ingenious staging, but I was wondering what was next for her. I'd love see her direct a revival of Parade.

She'll be working on Hadestown again, but this time at the Citadel Theatre in Canada. The theatre is marketing it as a pre-Broadway premiere, but nothing has been officially announced by the production.

Ideally winning a Tony for Hadestown. One for Amber Gray too, please.

A possible transfer of HADESTOWN to Broadway.
A national tour of SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS.
A reading of the new musical LEMPICKA at Williamstown (starring CYNTHIA ERIVO!!).
A production of LIGHT SHINING IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE for New York Theatre Workshop.
Let's just say...I love her work and am tracking everything she is attached to!!

No truer words were spoken. We have an idea of other directors for next season's musicals and if Hadestown comes in, I just hope for the best that it can hold up against what I'm sure will be great productions of My Fair Lady, Carousel, The Band's Visit, etc. both for a Best Director and Best Musical nod.

As much as I'd love another Rachel production to come to Broadway next year (also Amber Gray), Hadestown would probably get shut out again by The Band's Visit if it transfers this season (see: the long list of red 'nominated' symbols on their wikipedia page), unless they do some major revisions, especially to the book.

This is so crazy to me. Rachel was my Shakespeare teacher a few years ago and she was telling us about a little show that she was putting together at Ars Nova called "Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812". It's insane how much it's blown up since that point. Really goes to show that one moment you can be teaching, and the next you can be up for a Tony Award. Insane.

She's also been working with Dave Malloy on his next project, Moby Dick. I'm very excited about that one.

Speaking of which, has there been any mention of it recently? I'm looking forward to it as well but haven't heard any news in a while.

Malloy did an interview not too long ago where he said that it was going to be 4 acts long and will run nearly 5 hours. He said that each act will be written in a completely different style and the show will be a very different theatrical experience. I'm also extremely excited for it!
I really hope that Hadestown transfers for this season. It's absolutely brilliant!
