Unfortunately, I missed the entire evening, though I hear it was a success. I was supposed to go with my friend, but he fell asleep and didn't wake up until 3:45am. How convenient! Someone needs a new alarm clock!!!!!

Sometimes I get really tired of the whole SONDHEIM-Craze. I mean, really! Ray, the pianist, must get tired of it, too. I hope you all put a lot of money in his hat as it's passed because he deserves million$. Of course, sometimes the evening should be called Mostly Jason Robert Brown. No one does enough Irving Berlin. What about Mostly Berlin?

Oh ROB!!! I hear Brandon is already cut, so he may not need your services. And P.S. I WILL be there this week as I adore Sweeney Todd. I was up for the role of the bird in the cage(Linnet Bird), but I didn't get it. Jerks! I hope the bird they cast poops all over the stage! And P.S.S. I was at Sondheim last week, too, and someone dropped me. If you pick me up this week, be careful with me. I may be nasty, but I'm fragile!

Cincinnati Enquirer: BRANDON CUTRELL Apr 29 2005, 11:54:07 AM
Hello from Cincinnati! There's a great feature on Brandon Cutrell in the Cincinnati Enquirer today. Here's the link: http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050429/ENT/504290379/-1/all Or read below: CCM graduate collects New York cabaret award Brandon Cutrell, a 1999 musical theater grad of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, is loooking a lot like Manhattan's crown prince of cabaret these days. He won a MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) Award this week for male vocalist to go with a prestigious Bistro Award from show biz industry weekly "Backstage" in March for best vocalist. The vote-winning show was his "No Reservations." It's not on now, but you can catch his weekly Friday overnight stint at the Duplex in Greenwich Village. Cutrell hosts a "Mostly Sondheim" open mic in the cabaret room. The one-time opera major is always good for a few numbers. His full mantel doesn't mean he's quitting his day job at a marketing research firm soon, although resorts and clubs have been calling since his latest cabaret win. He's thinking hard about his first CD, working title "Brandon Cutrell: No Reservations" "but I need a backer. If Carl Lindner wants to back the project, I'd happily call it 'Brandon Cutrell: The UDF Album.' It would be appropriate. I lived on UDF's frozen yogurt when I was at CCM. I also like 'Brandon Cutrell: The Chiquita Album.' " Information: www.BrandonCutrell.com. Jackie Demaline
