Show tunes appropriate for a first dance Jan 9 2012, 02:24:02 PM
I just performed the first dance at my cousins wedding. She and her betrothed rearranged Brown's "Next Ten Minutes" replaced all the "Jamie"s with Ooooos and then took out some of the non-specific and self-depreciating dialogue that Kathy says. Also they changed the "I want to bear your child" to something less... high pressure. It was definitely a magical moment.

Bonnie & Clyde deserves better Dec 13 2011, 10:10:46 PM
*Spoilers- do not Read if you don't want to know. This is a review that I wrote of "Bonnie & Clyde" by Christopher T. And the animals- very Lion King. As a matter of f

Chances of Seeing Alice Ripley in Toronto? Jul 27 2011, 01:22:46 PM
I consider myself one of the lucky few who saw Alice in "good shape." My partner and I saw the first performance of the Chicago run. I can only imagine how things have gone downhill after hearing the rasp in her voice from the very beginning. While Alice did a great job, I think a part of "professionalism' is knowing when to say, 'No, I don't have the stamina to maintain this role for (X) months.' I am anxious to see this show go (Off-Broadway or Regional) into another produc

Avenue Q Puppets Getting Married.....um... Jul 27 2011, 01:18:14 PM
I agree! It's just a publicity stunt, but its also a metaphor. It only works if you've seen the show, or know the plot secondhand, but maybe people can't accept the sight of two MEN together yet, but they can accept the theoretical storytelling device of watching two (characters- puppets) fall in love. I support Avenue Q getting some publicity, if only because they've been a consistent successful gay friendly musical since on the NY scene since 2003, for 8 years now. That's t
