I believe Jackie's renewed her contract until January. This will give her a much-needed vacation. Wonder if they'll beef the part up a bit or tailor it to Whoopi's special talents? Should be a hoot, no matter what happens.

Wow, Whoopi must really like the show in order to agree to do this. It's a smart move on the part of the producers. They know that word of mouth is the best thing the show has going for it and if they can get people to come see it by putting a big name on the marquee, they'll extend the life of the show.

Will she miss a few performances of Xanadu since the show she is producing "...Colored Girls..." starts previews on August 19th at the Circle in the Square? Or will she just not attend preview performances for that show? Or, since Xanadu is only 90 minutes, maybe she will show up in the middle of Colored Girls after Xanadu is over. She is so involved with Broadway lately...good for her!
