Maybe you're mistaking the boot of the Stratford production (which has been on YouTube for years now) for Broadway?
I listened to an audience audio bootleg of the Broadway production as a kid and I recall thinking it would be overwhelming to have a clear recording of it.
Then I got a hold of the Broadway soundboard a few years later and I felt like miracles do happen.
Then I discovered the Stratford production in decent quality uploaded in its entire
LOL. I'm pretty sure Patti doesn't express her opinions strategically in order to garner press and I'm even more certain she doesn't speak her mind so that she could entertain you.
I appreciate her openness (because that's what it is). Like someone else said, "Ladies Who Lunch" is close to her and she does not so much own it, it owns her. Because she sang it every night, her understanding of it has evolved beyond what others might get from it so it'

A clueless director who wants to add his/her own stamp to Prince's original staging can easily screw it up enough for it to be bad. So if it does ever return to Broadway, I hope they appoint Larry Fuller as dire
"There is a saying here, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ I believe Evita is close to perfect and I’m a tad embarrassed saying that, but it has been reflected in the comments of so many people who have seen it."

"One of the most satisfying experiences of my career."
