re: First Cast Recording

Aug 8, 2005 — 12:31:48 PM

my first was the cast recording to an off-broadway show called Violet. i still listen to it a lot. i love it. My first Broadway cast recording was Sweeney Todd.

re: Going to broadway for the first time - any tips?

i'll be the first to suggest seeing sweeney todd. it was the first thing i saw that made me scared, laugh, and have an ending where my mouth was seriously wide open the entire time. ask my friend the music is so powerful && at times the lighting on the stage is pure red and it made my heart beat 90 times faster than it should.

ohhhh i'm definatly going with sweeney todd on this one. nothing better than a song about turning people into pies.

AIDA!! i can't stress enough how Aida should be revived. good thing my school is doing Aida this coming season && were taking it to the International Thespian Festival next summer in Nebraska i also agree with a lot of the other sugestions. once on this island. parade definatly, my school took that to the ITF two summers ago, and definatly pippin. the mystry of edwin drewd too, once again, my school took that to the ITF in 2001. also i think west side story is due.

re: Do you forgive performers who crack onstage?

Aug 7, 2005 — 12:51:12 PM

craking is perfecly normal especially if you're nervous because face it, even the best of the best still get nervous before going onstage. nobody is perfect, && the skilled actors are the ones who will sit in the audience and know what the person is going through. after hours upon hours upon more hours of rehearsal, you're voice isn't exactly peachy. ohh trust me. people need to learn to deal and cope. we're only human.
