Re: Sorry Betsy Wolfe, Worst Audrey Ever

I still remember seeing Norbert as Roger on a return visit to RENT in 2001 or something, simply an incredible singer and performer. Very excited that hes back singing on stage and love the very notion of his voice with Amber Iman's. If anyone saw them tonight please share

Re: A Few Good Men - Rest of the Cast?

When they cast celebrities, we complain that the commercialization of Broadway is so unfortunate, and what about working theater actors who have put in the time and have the talent, etcBut when they cast actors who have been on Broadway for 20+ years in a variety of roles, when the Broadway star but non-celebrity get the gig, we complain anyway? Insufferable.Yes I am sure that Arden and the producers were hoping for Taylor Swift to make her debut, but once they settled on non-celeb talent, wh...

am I correct that 3/5 out of the five leads have been out on extended injury leave in the past few months? Surprised theyve only now added one additional cover. And a shame that the new principal five have not had a chance to really settle into a groove together the way the original cast so fantastically did.edited to add it looks like Nic went on tonight, good for him for jumping right in.

this is a very harsh subject to have out there on the board like this. why must people be so disrespectful? I have never been a particular fan of Betsy Wolfe but shes a person who doesnt deserve to see such cattiness on the front page of a message board.

No fan of "KO" here but to be fair, i dont think she lives in NY, and Natalie Mendoza (who also lives elsewhere) didnt make it either.

Re: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY Reviews

on the one hand, a weak script--both the writing and the story. on the other, the scenic design here is truly something. you are on edge of your seat waiting to jump from the get go, and yes that insane moment in Act 1 lives up to the hype (how did they do that?). but some of the scares were telegraphed early on, and i thought the ending was so abrupt and unsatisfying/incomplete, it was a bit of a letdown. i needed more "how did they do that" i guess, but the few truly scary moments really po...

Amazingly she’s still packing them in though, so I suppose the show really can survive no matter the quality of the performance being given."i assumed the silence over her performan...

two lunatics who terrorize these boards competing over who is less insufferable, and all in the context of yet another mealy-mouthed, unspecific set of allegations that are impossible to verify but will get everyone nodding in support and solidarity.these boards in a nutshell.

"An American Daughter" at Pershing Square Signature Center

Helen Shaw's review of "The Saviors"

Aug 15, 2026 — 11:38:39 PM

bit of a slow start but it packs a punch at the end. Ivan Howe is simply remarkable in this, but both boys feel like actual boys talking like boys, not late teenagers trying hard to sound younger. All four actors are doing incredible work but the last 5 minutes with Howe is just... the kind of moments i wont soon forget.

Amber Iman is a brilliant choice for Persephone, wow, and Norbert Leo Butz is a brilliant choice for anything. Well done.

I dont remember anyone thinking MJ would struggle to sell tickets? MJ has one of the most popular and fantastic catalogues of all time, and I certainly never doubted that the actual production would be well received.i was just appalled at that reality.

‘Cats’ Closing: Is It Curtains for Broadway Musicals?

Jul 22, 2026 — 8:03:21 PM

I appreciate Eustis' insight here, but what is he talking about when he says "Going from four out of five shows losing their money to nine out of 10 shows losing their money was a qualitative shift. Now it’s Russian roulette"-- hes saying 80% of shows used to lose money, but now 90% of them do? Thats the huge shift? Broadway has a problem (the cost of employing everyone fairly is significant, and the landlords who have all the money they could ever want, still have the right if not obligation...

New Jennifer Nettles musical, GIULIA, will premiere in NY this fall

Jul 19, 2026 — 7:45:12 PM

i really hope this gets a hard revisit with some new directorial/creative talent because theres ALOT of good stuff here, namely one of the better new scores weve heard in a while and such a fantastic ensemble singing them. Nettles gives herself a slew of solo talk-to-the-audience barn burners and she nails each one, but they blend together after a while, and they arent necessary in a show with 20ish songs. Quentin Earl Darrington is singing absolutely bonkers perfectly, but he gets 2 or 3 wre...

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW reviews

Jul 19, 2026 — 7:32:44 PM

i look fwd to more new additions the cast so i can return, but appreciate these reports.Strange to hear that Hsu's voice isnt strong- i thought it was incredible when I saw her in May. And while i know nothing of Valentina, the role of Columbia in this production is asked to do very little, so why not have people in the role who might get tickets sold? Of course the existing understudies are better qualified but theyre trying to sell tickets, like everyone else.

Same with MJ who others are saying we should boycott because of Michael Jackson, who was also long dead before this production existed. And while JK Rowling is alive, she's about uninvolved with the Harry Potter stage show as any of those others are (collecting money from it, but having nothing to do wit...

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 7/13/26

Jul 14, 2026 — 9:09:12 PM

Yeah, I feel like most are able to recognize that it was once very popular, but that its a truly bizarre plot-less waste of time, and that without the original 80s spectacle it flops (see revival 2016, the movie, etc.). The genius of this revival was that is turned the underlying slop into something new and worthwhile (and i still struggled to care, but i know im in the minority on that). to each their own, but i think the post 1999 track record on CATS is pretty clear.
