I saw the show last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The timing of the overture and the lighting were as previously described, and a proper curtain call was blocked last night.

After reading the comments, I tempered my expectations, but I found this production to be strong overall. Despite the run time, the show moved along at a good pace, and I was never bored—unlike during other productions of "Gypsy." A few summers ago, I saw the Shaw Festival's revival with

I have Tammy Faye tickets for next weekend, just before closing. Purchased a while back as part of three show visit that includes Gypsy and Death Becomes Her. Not looking forward to the lack of energy and excitement a half filled Palace with generate. Could make for a depressing Friday night.

Lots of comments on casting Herbie and Louise but I'm anxious for the Gimmick trio and for some theater vets to strut their stuff in those roles. Carolee Carmello as Mazeppa; Alice Ripley as Electra; J. Elaine Marcos as Tessie.
