We agree on this, HogansHero.

And also, why piut out into the world a combination that actually "works" for this.  There may be others who feel despair and might think yes, that's a combo that works.  Sorry to be morbid, but its better not to let the world know exactly, IMHO.

To BKLYN8567 you mentioned you just found this chat area after Jeff died, and seem so passionate.  Did you know him or any of the "Chicago" people?

For me, I admit I didn't know his name except as a name in a Playbill.  I feel so sad to know his name only because of this tragedy.  I hope if the facts are near to what's been conveyed, his survivors  get money, to potentially  set up a scholarship or anything they

It looks like the moderators had to delete one of my posts, so maybe some logic may have been lost, HogansHero.

Yes, I agree with what you say quoted above, that I don't see anything that looks criminal in what I've seen so far.  I only mentioned that because it feels like people are thinking that no

To Hoganshero, those are fascinating points.

I've always seen that if people have nothing to hide, they behave as if they have nothing to hide.  They don't wait until an investigation is done before saying what they already know.  They just say it.

You may be thinking of a right to remain silent to avoid incriminating yourself.  Can anyone imagine criminal charges from what we've seen so far - I can;'t, but maybe I've missed somethi

My point is that the shaming process is clear:  Keep shaming, even escalate it, keep it going on, but once you find out it's not getting the "voluntary" leaving that is your goal - you can always get rid of the person then. (in my own personal situation, it's just a public accommodation rather than employment).

If indeed the reports of the conductor openly rolling her eyes during Jeff's performances show themse

tag, I'm just saying the chocolate shop info likely doesn't make a difference.  Some people seem today to be treating that chocolate shop matter as something that cuts in favor of "Chicago" - that it means they have less responsibility.  They knew their purpose was to shame him into quitting, to specifically avoid paying $30,000 to $40,000 by shaming him into quitting rather than be fired.  I wouldn't think it's criminal at all

I'm not so sure the other factors like the chocolate shop cut in favor of the "Chicago" company.

Are we to believe the people at "Chicago" knew nothing about his partner having lost his income, and lots of all these factors mentioned?  Even if not that:  Are we to believe that no one in management knew they were taking away his and his partner's only source of income, whether they knew about the chocolate shop or not?

(Ann Miner apparently has kept all the old posts on All that Chat. It would be wonderful if those ATC posts could be made available somewhere online. There's likely a lot of fascinating material in what she's been keeping, including your thoughtful posts.)

The fellow named "Finally" seems to take the administration of All That Chat very much to heart. Is he someone who's associated with ATC in some way?

I can’t even imagine in thinking back what I could have put in my posts on ATC that is keeping “finally” and “shadowlight” [a/k/a "darkstar"] and “whereismikeyfl” feeling so vivid in their anger well over four years later.

Also, I really have no clear idea why the person named “finally” continued to click on

Bette Midler Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy parody on YouTube

About the Michael Riedel article in Friday's Post talking about Bette's Broadway show, but it was based on the AmEx pre-sale only, though (where the location offerings really weren't at all great - I wasn't even tempted by the locations AmEx offered in this case, though I really love all these people) -

Bway spoofs blog 2009-2011 look-back compilation
 Sep 16 2012, 11:17:32 PM

There were lots of parody writers in cabarets and on the net taking gleeful advantage of Forbidden Bway's three years off to try our hands at the silliness of the theatre goings-on.
I compiled a blog of some of my own (with some terrific collaborators) that I thought were fun on topics that seemed hot on the chat boards in 2009-11.

THE YOUTUBE LINKS ARE AT MY BLOGSPOT AT
http://music-and-comedy.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-look-back-at-theater-spoofs-2009-2011.html

AS A TEASER TO GET YOU TO GO TO THE LINK, HERE'S A LIST OF SOME OF THE FUN TOPICS
THAT WE KIDDED THAT ARE LINKED ON THE BLOG:

The Speed the Plow sushi scandal, about Jeremy Piven suddenly quitting the show in 2009

Hair - Diane Paulus - Will Swenson, audience participation, the cast invades the audience!

A Little Site Music, Every Day a Little Net - Catherine & Angela sell out - the house, that is!

Hugh Jackman on Broadway, I Go To Rio spoof

Priscilla Queen of the Desert / as producer Bette Midler protects her investors and does the talk shows (The Gross, to the tune of The Rose)

40 year lookback, I'm Still Queer 1969-2009, an authorized take-off on I'm Still Here

Come Fly Away's gratuitous and copious dis-robing "celebrated" in Fly Me In The Nude

Kristin Wants More! - "Kristin" begs Simon & Bacharach & David for more and more Promises songs (spoof of I Say a Little Prayer)
- also Knowing When to Close, Kristin "Knowing When to Leave" spoof as Promises Promises decides very publicly NOT to re-cast but end with a profit

John & Abigail Adams Family snap-along mash-up (in honor of Peter Marks Addams Family review in the form of a parody)

NY Times heard reports that Stritch's agents were making some odd requests from Night Music producers . We speculated on those demands!

Free Shakespeare With Al, also the Merchant producers beg Al Pacino to extend (Shylock, to tune of Skylark)

Losing My Sign, Henry Miller Theatre becomes the Sondheim Theatre! Henry Miller's ghost takes note!

On a Clear Day He'll Be She Forever sex change - What did I Have I Don't have Now spoof

also: a few of our more quickly put-out, off the cuff parodies are linked on the blog as well
I'd Rather a Jew - Funny Girl casting
Pray for Grosses - Donny & Marie 2010 Christmas show Paper Roses spoof
Carrie Fisher pricing spoof
Broadway roles for Betty White (Great Auntie Mame, Much Older Sally in Follies),
Book of MoreMoney to tune of South Park's Kyle's Mom is a Bitch
The Mother With the Hat - the only YouTube spoof we know of about that title

And a couple of regional parodies:
- Actors playing instruments in Ten Cents A Dance at Williamstown & McCarter got Ben Brantley raving and us spoofing!
- the Arena Stage up-to-date Oklahoma on the way to New York, per the Times?- is it R&H for the 21st century?

Finale: Parody/Salute to Hamlisch & Kleban - What I Did Got Snubbed (Kiss the Dough Goodbye)

FRED LANDAU's work from ACROSS STATE LINES got him a Finalist slot in the 2010 Fred Ebb Award competition for theater writing. He wrote book for THE LAST STARFIGHTER (Storm Theatre; NYMF); also book/score for THE HAPPIEST OF TIMES (Triangle Theater, workshops BMI, ASCAP, Circle Rep). He was a speaker at Seattle’s Village Theatre on the Movies to Musicals trend. His YouTube parody work was excerpted on CNN (American Morning, AC360, Situation Room). In praising Fred’s work on HAPPIEST OF TIMES at ASCAP, critic/historian Martin Gottfried said the work “was defined by the invention of its creators. It sounded like itself and like nothing else…They invented their own language for musical theater and it had nothing to do with anything else that I’ve seen, really, in term of musical theater.” Fred graduated from Harvard Law School & has a masters from NYU Law School. Projects include VIVA MAX!, co-author of a musical based on Jim Lehrer's novel; and THEATER SQUAWK, an irreverent (within reason) musical parody kidding the Haskins-Riedel Theater Talk series. Fred's youtube work can be found by searching "fred landau" at youtube.com.
