Hi,
Heading to NYC in February for a long weekend.

We have tickets for Newsies and Waiting for Godot.

We're going to see one more (Maybe two if we see a show Sunday night)

Would you recommend

Kinky Boots
Matilda
Gentleman's Guide To Love & Murder
Sleep No More (for a second time)

I live in Los Angeles area, so my Broadway ranking is a bit different as everything that tours will play either the Ahmanson or the Pantages early in the tour.

Shows at the top of the NY list: Amazing technical productions that would be stripped down on tour, (yes, i saw Spiderman on previous visit) or amazing stars (Godot, original Producer's cast, etc)

I'm looking forward to the visit.

Kinky Boots is something you don't want to miss with the OBC. And some of the cast is leavin very soon so go see the OBC while you can, you won't regret it. Also the show itself is amazing!!!!

The Kinky Boots tour will be identical to the Broadway production because the set can easily tour.

Matilda, on the other hand, will never be able to tour with the pure magic that happens in the Shubert. DO NOT MISS this show! You'd be making a huge mistake to pick KB over this...you will have many chances to see Kinky on the road.

Don't miss Richard III/12th night.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Would the fact that Matilda's set being so hard to tour was one of the reasons why it did not get a tony award.

Matilda is AMAZING! Not a fan of Kinky Boots. Also Pippin is worth it if you like the story.

Twelfth Night. Pippin and Kinky Boots will probably get pretty respectable tours, but missing Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry should not happen.

Now t/d/b/a haterobics on here.

Thanks. Matilda sounds like it might be the one to see in NYC. (I know Kinky Boots is great too, but if it will still be great in LA.) If our flight arrives on time on Friday, we might even be make both, although we wont' buy tix in advance.

I know Pippin is great, but it played the Mark Taper a few years ago. Plus I'm sure it will tour.

Don't hate, but I probably would skip Shakespeare. I know it's gotten great reviews, but not my favorite. Although I appreciate the recommendations.

I would suggest "Wicked-the musical". I realize everyone on earth wants to see it but believe me there is a reason for it. It sounds as though you have not seen the show but again, if you can only go to only one show make it this one!!! You won't be disappointed.
