I'm going to see this again next weekend with family members who are excited for this one. They saw Part One and loved it, so it should be interesting to see how they'll react to Wicked: For Good.

Just got out of an early screening and I thought that Wicked: For Good was quite a large improvement over the original musical's Act II. I think it's as equal with the first film in terms of quality and an extremely satisfying conclusion to the two Wicked films. Colman Domingo is a solid choice for the Cowardly Lion, and I think he's really good in everything he does, so this works for me. Also, a small clip for "Wonderful" has been released and I like that Glinda is part of the number now instead of it being just Elphaba and the Wizard. The music/orchestration arrangements here are FIRE!

The more and more I see of this, the more I have some hope that this movie will largely improve the flawed second act of Wicked which was always a big weak spot in what is otherwise a really good stage musical. I'm really curious about how the two new songs: "No Place Like Home" and "The Girl in the Bubble" will fit into the plot and not feel like they're there for Oscar bait.

Finally watched it and the good news is that this is nowhere even close to being a bad film adaptation of a Broadway musical. Kiss of the Spider Woman isn't Nine or the live-action Beauty and the Beast which was a relief, but it's not as good as Wicked and hearing the news of it bombing isn't surprising me; considering that this doesn't have the household name power that Wicked has. That was a pretty nice teaser all things considered. Lopez looks and sounds great, and the musical numbers seem to have a refreshing, old-fashioned style to them; honestly, I might check this out in theaters when it releases in October. Thank goodness that both Bill Condon and Rob Marshall has escaped the dreaded Disney machine and are making movies that they want to make."Where You Are" seems to be the most modern looking out of all the numbers shown in the teaser.

That was a wonderful trailer. This one-year intermission was certainly a smart idea, and it makes me excited to see it and maybe watch the first part again right before seeing this one in theaters.

Hopefully we'll get a teaser trailer for this soon. It will be pretty interesting considering that Kiss of the Spider Woman will come out in October and then we're getting Wicked: For Good the next month. It's neat that we're getting big movie musicals so close to each other.

It's a shame that the score is cut into ribbons, but the musical numbers involving Lopez is getting some positive notices in some of these reviews. Tonatiuh sounds like they're a star in the making judging from the reviews and I'm glad that they are getting well deserved attention. Big congrats to the cast and crew for Wicked with its 10 Oscar nominations! Best Score was a pleasant surprise and one where it makes sense for it being nominated. It's so refreshing to see a film adaptation of a Broadway musical to be a box office hit and an awards darling at the same time. The last time that this happened to my knowledge was Chicago.

Saw it again on Sunday and it's still an amazing 10 out of 10 movie musical adaptation to me. The second viewing also made me appreciate the easter eggs and cameos a lot more. I agree that Oz doesn't feel too overwhelming with saturation because 1: we already have the classic 1939 film for that, 2: there are many moments in the film where the colors pop like crazy and is better than the compressed videos on YT have shown. But I will sort of understand where people are coming from with the glare/lens flares that happen from time to time. It is a little annoying, but Spielberg's West Side Story was also guilty of doing that quite often, so I don't mind it personally....

Wicked has now become the highest grossing movie domestically for a film adaptation of a Broadway musical, outgrossing the likes of Chicago and Grease. We movie musical fans are being fed a feast in this timeline, and I couldn't be happier. Finally got to see it. Now I can be added to the growing choir of those who absolutely loved it! So many things from the acting, directing, writing, editing, musical numbers, costumes, production design, and yes, even cinematography (my theater had a really good projector in Dolby Atmos) were firing on all cylinders. This has been wonderful day for me, between this getting very positive reviews and seeing the "Defying Gravity" hour long special. Honestly this makes me even more excited for this weekend. Also seeing the entire "What is This Feeling?" number at the end of the special was awesome! Jon M. Chu might be the one director who knows how to give a musical number both a classic and modern touch without one overwhelming the other.He should direct more movie musicals after this. I'm serious.
