After watching the stage show again on youtube (thanks, sassylash3s), I must own it. I'm kind of in love with Fred Johanson. I will go on and get the original film too, but now I wanna check out the arena tour as well. Thanks for messing me up, tazber. And I've wondered why Vereen wasn't in the film, myself.
*sigh* I knew this would happen. What the hell. I'm getting both. I'll be more at ease that way. The revival is freshest in my head, and that's the one I was leaning toward. Even with the flaws you guys have mentioned though, I wouldn't mind the 70's version for nostalgic reasons! Thanks for the input.
Where was the Sweeney Todd cast recording recorded? I mean, some numbers sound like they were recorded onstage (the sound of Lovett smacking pie dough in "The Worst Pies...") as opposed to a studio. I've always wondered about this and knew you guys would have the answer. Thanks in advance.
I don't know, Owen22. The wolf in the original production had quite a package... Seriously though, I'm not crazy about the choice for Little Red either, always having assumed there were some sexual undertones in "Hello, Little Girl", but we'll see how it turns out. I'm more concerned with them destroying the music.
I'm not a singer or anything, so this discussion is fascinating to me. The only one that really drives me crazy is the "yew". Hadley Fraser comes to mind. And Best12, I love Felicia Ricci. That was cool.
So, I have a question. Why all the Katharine McPhee hate? Not the character, but the actor. I think she's great, but many seem to despise her. Just wondering why, that's all.
Apologies if this has already been posted, but I thought this was a pretty interesting read. Put me in the "love" camp, but Murray's criticism of the major and minor flaws is very thoughtful.

I get your point, ACL2006. I think it's just that there are many "under the radar" lovers of SJB, myself included, who would like to see her get some legitimate "brownie points" for this fill-in. God I wish I could be there right now! (cough,cough,video,cough,cough...)
