I thought it was obvious (or maybe you're all saying this) that from what she said to Rapunzel... "Don't you know what's out there in the world? Someone has to shield you from the world. Stay with me" I think that she's simply saying that she's not the problem, they are, and the 'Witch' isn't always what causes what's wrong, which is the point of the entire show. The new lyrics are just ridiculous.
