If you were to go to a certain video site and type in "Obsessing over Jonathan Groff"...you'll understand what I mean.
Honestly, do they really have NOTHING better to do?
My favorite part is when one chick sees the "other guy" and says: "Get away from him!"

Is shame not something that can be taught? I wish it were.
I'm shocked that these girls were not ashamed to post that online! I'm shocked that they wouldn't assume people would think they're creeeeeepy.

Wow.....
I've heard he has gotten several marriage proposals since Spring Awakening hit Broadway.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:11pmThat's the sort of behavior that gives teenage fans a bad rep.

Oh my. That is amusing. They do know that regardless of whether or not he's straight they're not getting in his pants, I hope.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:21pmSad thing is, it's not just teenagers. I've seen women up to the age of 50 acting with such extreme idiocy (mostly in the Joss Whedom fanbase, though...)

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:26pmI don't care so much about them looking all over for pictures...although it is sort of creepy that they were in someone's private photobucket (i think,) but that they were obsessing so much over his sexuality. It's not like they are ever gonna "get sum."

What got to me was the "God, don't dp this to ME, don't do this to ME..."
um, what?

Oh God, I wouldn't be surprised if they DID post here.
I love the "RAUL ESPARZA!" outburst. How... inappropriate.
Not that anything about it IS appropriate.
I'm in disbelief!

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:31pmAs fans like that tend to be the most vocal, it's no wonder so many performers are scared of their fans. I just hope the poor guy never stumbles across it someday. Doubtless he'd find it deeply scarring.

Oh jeez. I wonder if they've ever met him.
And, G/d forbid he ever sees that. Those are the kind of fans that give us other fans a bad name.
I can't really blame the actors for not always wanting to come out and sign/take pictures.
And, why the heck would they put it on the internet for all to see? Are they trying to get attention? Do they think that if they post it and he sees, he will invite them to sleep over or something?

Posted: 12/11/06 at 7:43pmEmcee, trust me, shame is taught. The difference here is, gays are taught from the day their born to be ashamed of themselves, while these girls are taught to thrust that shame upon us just as their fellow members of society have--when fact is, these girls are the ones who should be ashamed of themselves. It's unfortunate how that works. To use a quote from SPRING AWAKENING, we're "the guilty ones" simply for existing, while their behavior is accepted as a norm.

I googled that too, so I can totally relate to being scared.

I'm assuming they didn't think a whole lot of people would look for it. That it would be a private joke between them and a few friends.
I thought of you, Em, when they mentioned Raul.

Ya know what's also creepy? When "fans" look up performers phone numbers online and attempt to call them. In fact, that's down right crazy.

Oh, Foster, I didn't mean it in a general sense at all -- sorry I wasn't clearer. Of course it is -- taught and more specifically, conditioned.
I meant strictly in the sense of being ashamed of acting ridiculous, you know? I wish someone could get girls like the ones in the video to understand that this isn't cute or funny, but downright obnoxious -- something they should be ashamed, not proud of. I'm not condoning the kind of conditioned shame you're referring to, though, by any means.
Anyway, yeah, I see what you're saying, and you're not wrong -- it's just not what I intended. i meant specifically in the case of behavior like this.

I didn't even watch this the whole way through. In the words of Stan Marsh, "Dude, this is pretty F*CKed up right here!"

Posted: 12/11/06 at 8:12pmI am very close with a very well known actor and his family. Someone from his son's school looked up his home phone number in the directory and circulated it all over the internet as a joke. They ended up with a bunch of crazy threats. People do all sorts of crazy things.

Posted: 12/11/06 at 8:51pmOne time, I tried to upset a teenage girl who loved Anthony Rapp by saying "Sorry, he's gay." And he is. But it backfired. She say, "Well, I can dream, can't I?"
