Yeah, I also heard it's super charming, and the reviews were great. Hopefully it will get picked up for distribution. Did anyone see the LIZA documentary at Tribeca? I'm going to check that one out too.

New Jonathan Groff film at NewFest LGBTQ+ Film Festival

NewFest LGBTQ+ Film Festival has a new film called A NICE INDIAN BOY starring Jonathan Groff. It's a romantic comedy that premiered at South by Southwest and this is the first screening since then. (The film doesn't yet have distribution). It is opening night of the festival on October 10 at SVA Theatre. The festival has several other theater-related films, including the documentary LIZA: A TRULY TERRIFIC, ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY (which premiered at Tribeca), DUINO (starring Juan Pablo di Pace)...

The new Charles Busch film THE SIXTH REEL is playing at NewFest's NY LGBTQ+ Film Festival on Monday 10/18 at SVA Theatre. In addition to Charles Busch it stars Andre deShields, Julie Halston, Cady Huffman and Margaret Cho. A new movie Nora Highland based on the stage play will be screening as part of NewFest, the LGBTQ Film Festival. It’s available to watch throughout the US. It’s about the casting of a gay actor in a straight role in a Broadway revival. Marin Ireland stars. Signature has a new video series on their website, "Angels in America at 20 Years," where they will be talking to people involved with the show since the beginning. The first one posted is a short chat with Tony Kushner - he talks about his views on the responsibility of the playwright and whether playwrights set out to "change the world." Good stuff.
