NewFest LGBTQ+ Film Festival has a new film called A NICE INDIAN BOY starring Jonathan Groff. It's a romantic comedy that premiered at South by Southwest and this is the first screening since then. (The film doesn't yet have distribution). It is opening night of the festival on October 10 at SVA Theatre. The festival has several other theater-related films, including the documentary LIZA: A TRULY TERRIFIC, ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY (which premiered at Tribeca), DUINO (starring Juan Pablo di Pace), and I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU (starring Andrew Rannells).

The Groff film sounds interesting as does the Rannells' movie:
"Andrew Rannells and Nick Kroll bring their signature comedic flair to this SXSW sensation about a vacation that spirals deliriously out of control. As married couple Dom and Cole set off to Italy in an effort to reconnect after 10 years of marriage and before bringing home their adopted child, they encounter a series of hysterical and increasingly intense cultural barriers that threaten to upset their best-laid plans."

It premiered at SXSW Film Festival back in March. Im guessing no one picked it up yet to stream. A shame, I heard it was sweet.

They seem to be holding out for a cinema release and not accepting a streaming-only deal. It got great reviews.

Yeah, I also heard it's super charming, and the reviews were great. Hopefully it will get picked up for distribution. Did anyone see the LIZA documentary at Tribeca? I'm going to check that one out too.
