Variety gave Orphans Home Cycle a rave review. It closed at Hartford Stage this past weekend and starts performances next week at Signature.

"In his final gift to the theater Foote has created a work of gentle existentialism. It asks: Why do things happen in life the way they do? That Foote's central character ultimately accepts the mystery and finds his own sense of love, home and peace is as quietly profound as a zen master's prayer. Each of the pieces can stand alone. Taken in a big gulp or longer sips over three perfs, this saga of three families responding to the changing social, economic and personal conditions in a single community becomes a transformative work and its production a stunning achievement."

Whew...glad to know that spending $360 on tickets was money well spent.

I take it you're seeing a marathon? 'Cause tix to the individual parts are all $20.

Yes, I am.

And correction: I believe once the first allotment of tickets are sold out, the price goes up to 65 per performance (which will also be the price for any extension).

This is typical of the Signature's policy as only the first round of tickets are subsidized. And from what I can tell, most of the 20 seat performances are gone. Buy your tickets fast everyone!

Does anyone know if these plays have to be seen in order? Thanks!
