OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)
 Feb 16 2026, 03:04:31 PM

JCM was wonderful. Saw the 2/15 evening performance. He makes the role his own. Was so happy to see Jenn Harris on Broadway. I've been following her career for years since she was a regular at Our Hit Parade at Joe's Pub 15 years ago. It's just such a well written show that it doesn't need to be 2 hours long. I saw it twice with the original cast and they were pitch perfect, but with the right performers it could keep playing for a few years.

I was waiting to be buzzed in the backstage door to meet up with Jakk and I chatted with her as she was heading out but she told me she'd be staying on as Montagu.

Was at the 2pm matinee on Sunday 2/08 and Gerianne Perez was Montagu. The rest of the UK cast were in their roles. Gerianne was very good and she told me afterwards that she is staying on as Montagu after the UK cast departs. Had a nice visit with Jak after the performance.

Do we have a sense of when the new cast will be announced? It's pretty close, so I'm surprised they haven't already done so!

It will be hard to replace this cast because they OWN those roles, especially Jak Malone. I'm sure they have a fine new cast lined up, but I'm going again this weekend to

Probably for the best. The play would probably go right over your head.

Marilyn Maye at 54 Below
 Nov 3 2025, 03:12:14 PM

I know it's a small room and not a Broadway theater, but my husband and I went to see Marilyn last night (Sunday Nov 2) at 54 Below for her show commemorating the 100th birthday of Johnny Carson. We saw her for the first time this past Spring when she was a performer at Carnegie Hall at that Hello Dolly tribute show. 97 years old and still has a powerhouse voice! She's doing a few more nights in November at 54 Below, so if you want to experience a 97 year old dynamo who's still belting, go see Marilyn. She's a hoot! Attaching a video that the woman next to us filmed.

Cole Escola as Dr. Frankenfurter
 Jul 2 2025, 01:40:05 PM

I recall reading recently about RHPS coming back to Broadway. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think Cole would make a really great Dr. Frankenfurter. During the last few minutes of Oh, Mary! their voice at times reminded me of Tim Curry singing "I'm Going Home".

I'm just glad I took my mother to see her at Barclays in what, 2016? I'd always wanted to take her to see Barbra but she would never spend that type of money on herself.

Transport Group to Present HELLO, DOLLY! at Carnegie Hall
 Jun 25 2025, 08:48:18 AM

I had a great time! The show was really good, but for me the highlight was the introduction to someone who was a surprise guest. When they introduced Sondra Lee I literally gasped OH MY GOD!

Even though she's the only living (she's 96) cast member from the OG Hello Dolly, I will always think of her as Tiger Lily from the 1960 NBC TV broadcast of Peter Pan starring Mary Martin and Cyril Ritchard. I was born way after that tv show aired, but as a child I would watch it over and o

2025 Tony Awards Reactions Thread
 Jun 9 2025, 03:18:03 PM

My husband and I watched from beginning to end and we both agreed it was a very well put together show. One thing that I felt could have been improved were the choices of songs picked to be performed by the casts of the musicals. For many of these shows, this is the only chance they have to give the TV audience a feel for what their show is about. If the right song is performed, it could make people want to see the show and especially if they will be in NYC visiting. I think MHE, BVSC, OMM an

LuPone on McDonald

This Sunday's TONY awards is going to be sooooo good. I would *LOVE* to see Patti Lupone walk out and give the award for best actress in a musical. It would be as if Voldemort walked out on stage. Remember when Scorsese and DeNiro walked out to present an honorary Oscar to Elia Kazan? Half the audience shot daggers!

The 78th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2025

Featured actor has Jak Malone etched already. Like Jeremy Jordan, he received a lot of love letters from critics. And nobody can ever beat the Dear Bill moment.

Spot on.

OPERATION MINCEMEAT Reviews

Saw Operation: Mincemeat on 5/3 at the evening performance. I knew what the basic plot was, but I stayed away from checking any of the music or reviews because I wanted to experience it fresh. Well! Until Saturday my favorite musical this year was Maybe Happy Ending, and I still love that show but Operation: Mincemeat is my new fave. I LOVED this show! Not only are the songs great, but the script and the cast are FABULOUS! The 5 actors need to literally wear so many hats, and play so many rol

Death Becomes Her and Buena Vista got the same number of nominations as MHE. Death Becomes Her also edged out Shen in Best Actress to get both of their leads nominated. Buena Vista even got a Special Tony. I honestlythink Best Musical is much more competitivethan some on here believe."

MAYBE HAPPY ENDING Reviews

I'd heard of the show but other than Darren Criss starring in it, I had no idea what it was about. We discovered it was a musical and the two leads play robots. My husband wanted to see it, so we got tickets in February. Well! I went in with an open mind, and I fell in LOVE with this show. Couldn't wait for the cast album to be on Spotify. I've been raving to everyone I know to go see it.

Lin Manuel Miranda's WARRIORS musical
 Mar 19 2025, 11:10:18 AM

Thank you. I would never have started the thread if the search for it had come up with that article.

Well, I still think it would make a great Broadway show and it seems it's going to happen.

Lin Manuel Miranda's WARRIORS musical
 Mar 19 2025, 09:25:19 AM

Before I started this post, I searched to see if there were any previous posts on this subject on the site, and I didn't see any. I know a lot of people do not like Lin, but a few weeks ago I heard about his 2024 re-imagining of the 1979 movie THE WARRIORS as a musical where the WARRIORS are an all female gang, so I went to Spotify to listen to the album. I've been playing it for weeks and I think it's fantastic. I hope it becomes a Broadway show or a movie.

In case anyone hasn't heard it, here's the link:
