I actually like the "bridges" line in "Thank Goodness," but maybe I just like the way Kristen sings it on the OBCR. *shrug* But "I'd sooner buy defying gravity" should probably have never happened, and "Oh here it... it's a candy bar wrapper" from Light my Candle - Rent kind of bothers me.

Great Book, Movie, and Play?

Are there any great plays/musicals that are based off of/have both an equally great movie and book? The closest I can come up with is maybe Cabaret? Both the play and movie were critically acclaimed, but I'm not sure how successful "The Berlin Stories" were. There are lots of shows that satisfy two of the three, but not all three... Thoughts?

Best line: "Through the trees into the sea time flies, time dies, RIIIGHT BRAIN" Good music, abysmal lyrics. Makes me appreciate the 1996 version all the more.

After listening to several workshop songs, seems like the music is largely the same (although there are some occasional differences) but the lyrics are where the major difference is. They were much cornier/campier/80s-ish. It's also interesting to see a different ordering of the songs. Also, what's going on with Roger? Glad Pascal came in; this guy sounds the opposite of what I'd imagine an ex-heroine addict punk rocker with HIV to sound like. ><
