Good Vibrations Commercial

Feb 3, 2005 — 12:39:40 PM

I feel for the talented members of the cast, some of them have put so much into the journey, but the show should never have made it passed the Vassar reading. John Carrafa should be mindful of this creative tumble, his method of improvisational directing/staging DOES NOT WORK. The very noble cast members of DOTV could tell you that!

re: Dreyfuss out of PRODUCERS

Oct 19, 2004 — 10:50:53 AM

Regarding Dreyfuss, it was obvious the exact time the London rehearsal piano played out the first few notes of "The King of Broadway" for Richard to "sing" that this was a tragic casting mistake. Here's hoping all the best for Poppa Nathan in London, lucky UK audience, he and Evans should be a treat. But I wish Lane had a bit more rest, his performance in The Frogs was both brilliant and exhausting!

re: I met John Jeffrey Martin, from Hairspray.

Oct 19, 2004 — 10:45:37 AM

Young Mr. Martin is the cat's meow. He is indeed a sweetheart, but even better a dedicated and passionate performer, and has excelled at a variety of roles in his short time as a "hot chorus boy", here's wishing him all the best "at the beach". Remember that he is a busy young man and might not be able to return your letter asap, he'll be exiting HAIRSPRAY shortly and jumping right into GOOD VIBRATIONS rehearsals.

SAW BROOKLYN - SAVE YOUR MONEY

Oct 19, 2004 — 10:39:22 AM

They should of opened this in small theater off-broadway. They should of created a less strident marketing campaign. They should of worked on the "book" a bit longer. They should stop putting so much on the talented shoulders of young Eden. She's good, but not a miracle worker. They should of put a stop to the family member/producer's assistant/secondary shills who all but ensured a negative buzz with their caustic and naked cheering of the show. They'll "face the music" Friday morning.

It's always a happy day when he is singing.

Thank you BWW for creating such a wonderful event, and giving so very much for the goals and needs of BC/EFA..sadly I was unable to attend but await the pictures with baited breath! You should be proud of all your hard work.

re: What Are You NOT Looking Forward To

Aug 30, 2004 — 4:01:12 PM

There is some great stuff coming in, what I'm not looking forward to is the small minds that continue to embrace small-minded pap, give some excitement a chance!

re: Hardest show for a chorus?

Aug 25, 2004 — 12:46:20 PM

The past: Starlight Express-those skates were MURDER. The present: Hairspray, those nicest kids are hard workers. Special mention to Tyler Haynes in The Frogs, he's a one-man-band at times with his boundless energy. Did I express how much he rocks? :)

Why thank you Poppy, you and Amneris are great kids. Hey Gang, let's post mindless gossip and destroy the heart and soul of theater!

re: Leaving Hairspray...

Jeff Martin rules as Link, but don't count out Power Serge, the gang at the Neil Simon are well stocked on Link Larkins, and Peter Matthew Smith know just how to sell Corny with a smile and a song.
