Is Score of Hamilton Better in Context of the Show? Sep 10 2016, 03:27:09 PM

Are you saying that, for you, quality is directly related to the vocal range that a piece demands?

But I am bummed that the gift I am giving friends of tickets purchased many many months ago for end of September show has not only almost every originating cast member gone but not even their REPLACEMENTS ? just covers/standby

I'm a fan! I was only speaking about his performance on a specific evening. It did not compare favorably with a previous performance and I found it distracting.

I saw the show last week (Tuesday) and also felt like something was off with Anthony Ramos. He played Laurens a lot drunker than he had when we saw it in March, and Phillip a lot brattier. It felt strange. I guess it's time for him to move on.

Good morning! I thought Brandon Victor Dixon did a great job in his first performance as Burr. Some specifics from last night:
His voice is lighter than Leslie's. I thought it was lovely. My husband felt like his "Wait for It" didn't have quite enough power, although we both felt his "Room Where It Happens" was fantastic. "Dear Theodosia" was perfect. After the duel, he seemed emotionally spent. I wasn't close enough to tell

I'm going tomorrow! We bought these tickets in December, so I'm kind of tickled that it worked out like this. I saw the show in March, so it'll be fun to hear a new voice as Burr.

I am aware of the fact that Madison coughs quite a bit because he had chronic health problems but what's the deal with Jefferson?? Did he have a leg injury at some point in his career...
He's not dragging his leg. That walk is called a pimp walk, or

Just checked to see if mine had shipped and discovered an email saying my payment was declined! I pre-ordered this so long ago that my card expired and I forgot to update it with Amazon. Thank goodness for this thread or I might not have seen the email. All is well now. Whew!

Bundle up, take chairs, but be aware that you may be limited as to what you can bring into the theater if you do get tickets. Identify a dumpster just in case your chairs are too big. The Line Dude took ours off our hands. (He offered to pay, but those chairs only cost $5 each to begin with so I just let him have them.) No direct sunlight is the truth! The day we went it was in the high 60s but we were quite chilly because the sun just doesn't reach. Good luck!

I would expect it to get worse because of warm weather, vacations, school breaks, Tony awards, BUT anything could happen between now and your trip. The theater could change the way they distribute these tickets. Line sitters could be banned. The police could decide to disperse the line du

I was one of the people who got in to the matinee on 3/9. Front row center, seats 105 and 106, unclaimed lottery, was $167 each, which is the price that was printed on the ticket. Another couple was a few rows back, maybe H, still center, and their tix were $177, which is what was printed on the ticket. There was one person in line near me who said he was willing to take a premium ($477) seat, and one of the line sitters was waiting for evening premium seats, not the regular $177 seats.

No, people! Two center orchestra seats (unless you are in the rear orchestra) will cost you $477 each if you buy them in the "cancellation line". :P And, that $177 price is about to go up (if it hasn't already). Premium seats are the only ones that are $477 and I have no idea where they are. Those center orchestra seats in row H or J are $177.

I get your frustration but I urge you to be mindful of the anger you're trying to generate bc it could lead to abuse of people who are only going to work. It's a legal business and you're free to find it unfair but they are already sitting outside for hours for not much

It's simple supply and demand. The line sitters did not create this. This board did not create this. The quality of the show and resultant buzz created this. When my son was entering kindergarten, our school system had a policy whereby one could enter a lottery to get into a school outside your boundary. It wasn't a true lottery; you lined up outside the school you wanted to enroll your child in, and put in your application when the doors opened and they assig

1:00am start, but yes, 5th in line. The first was a line sitter who is regularly there before midnight. The next two were waiting for evening tickets. Unclaimed lottery tickets are $167, not $177. The person who was in front of me in the line also got unclaimed lottery. I would imagine that they don't keep the entries in the system for longer than it takes to make the drawing and that's why they don't keep selecting names; remember that people have an hour to pay
