Seats in the Nederlander Theater - NEWSIES
 Feb 4 2013, 11:35:19 PM
I just saw Newsies and was really disappointed in our seats. Don't sit in the mezzanine center first 2 rows. There is s big black box sticking out that blocks part of the stage. I paid full price and could have chosen side center aisle mezzanine 2rd row, which turns out would have been perfect, but went with the center thinking it would be better. I even googled best seats and didn't find anyone that said this, so beware!

Well, first off, what kind of talent do you have? Do you have and standouts with real singing/acting/dancing chops that could carry the role of Annie, or Oliver, or Sandy, or...Most musicals have at least a few leads that really do need to be able to sing well. Our middle school drama coach recently auditioned all the kids BEFORE deciding on a show because she wanted to see what he had. A lot of the kids didn't like that though, not wanting to audition unless they knew what show it was going

AMDG, I want your life. Seeing "Broadway" shows around the world sounds way cool.

sgv by "warning" I just meant that nothing in the story really led up to that. One minute they had their clothes on burning draft cards and the next minute they didn't, then it was the end of act 1 and done and never mentioned, and when act 2 started they all had their clothes on again. Huh? Why did they do that? I didn't think it really fit the song. "Walking In Space" is where I imagined the nudity to be. Of course nobody asked me lol :)

Well, I lived through the 60's and didn't get to see Hair the first time around. But I LOVED the music and knew it by heart. I couldn't wait to see this show. But I was disappointed. I thought the costumes were over the top, kinda like if I went to a costume store and asked for a hippie costume. The singers were good and some were great, but nothing there that was better than the 60's cast. There was no real choreography to speak of, just lots of gyrating and swaying and running into the a

I'm new here, but I just got back from a Broadway trip, seeing 4 shows. I may be the only person here who didn't like HAIR, but I didn't. Loved Billy Elliot though. I guess it depends what you want out of a show. I like shows that dazzle me with amazing sets, costumes, voices, dance, and ones that move me. Billy Elliot had it all, though the dancing was the most amazing. WICKED really really has it all.
