The first thing you need is an arguable claim. (Read: thesis). Choose something controversal that allows you to bring in outside information that you enjoy. For example, "Microphones deminish the power of live theater by lessening the direct connection between the audience and the performer." Or you could argue that "Any prerecorded music or dialogue used in a Broadway should be because it destroys the art form."
