Christopher McDonald just came on my TV and I suddenly remembered that I saw a Broadway show (I think in the past 10 years?) where he was the special guest brought up from the audience. It was NOT OH, Hello! because I remember who my guest was when I saw that (Hank Azaria!). Does anyone remember other shows that brought up the most famous person in the audience for a small bit? Thank you! It's driving me crazy!

So glad you and others seem to adore this show. I thought it was fun but was cringing maybe more than I have at any show. I thought the David Bedella + nurse storyline and half the songs were so forced as to be painful, not to mention Cassidy’s way too over the top Celine song. It is fun but it still has all the weaknesses and cringeworthiness of a jukebox musical.

Ok man no need to be so rude. Of course I am looking at the seating chart but it doesn’t say if a seat is on a aisle or how many off it it is like many U.K. sites do. And ok maybe not a “wall” but some sort of barricade; it’s happened often with seats that are on ends. I’m just asking to be sure you don’t have to get your rocks off by being a dick.

I'm shocked that they tried to get Craig and Bailey and it fell through?! I wonder what side ended things. I can't imagine they didn't want to bring these roles to Broadway. Bailey was my fave part of this production.

I'm so so happy and relieved with this announcement. Kyle Soller & Andrew Burnap gave performances beyond anything. I completely believed they were their characters and it feels like they're in my heart forever. When I saw it I thought Burnap was a lock for supporting actor win and he wasn't even nominated so I hope regardless of where he's placed he earns a nomination, along with Soller and Hilton. I can't remember any staging that would give a benefit to either side. It's very front-focused as far as I can remember (although I could be forgetting a scene from any of the 7 hours :) ). At least in London, there weren't any bad seats, but definitely being center and closer would be good (although I was in the balcony for part 2 and felt just as intimately connected). To even see people comparing The Inheritance to The Lehman Trilogy is so strange. The Inheritance is one I put off seeing until I almost ran out of time, because I figured it could NOT live up to the hype, I had just seen the revival AinA, and I figured there's no way this also warrants 2 4-hour segments. The Bridges of Madison County! One of my most special theatre experiences every time I saw Kelli + Steven do their magic but that last show was astounding. Not because of a performer's power, but in last year's famous Company revival, which everyone but me loved, the understudy for Bobbi was black so when she was on they just cut the entirety of Tick Tock (it was staged with a sudden influx of Bobbi lookalikes and so they only that many white women). I love diversifying casts and understudies but you have to ensure you can still do the show as intended, guys. It was pretty bad.

Lol I've been vegan and a theatre reviewer both for decades. She sounds like she's new. She needs to lighten up, and save her outrage to protest if/when any entertainment causes real harm to an animal. Hmm, maybe I saw her when she wasn't 100% health but Rosalie's Bobbie didn't belt at all (responding to an above post) and it was kind of lackluster for me. I would love to see this be a huge debut for Anne Hathaway, honestly. And I know Patti will be in it but it's a great opportunity for a new grand dame to play Joanne. I saw the show several times here and she was so overly hammy for her built-in audience that it was off-putting and felt phony (and like phoning it in).
