Minsky's Review 1-23-09

I saw Minsky's tonight and I thought that it was excellent. It was so much fun, and so clever very similar to Drowsy Chaperone.I think I liked it even better! The costumes are so great, the music is catchy and the actors especially Christopher Fitzgerald and Beth Leavel were perfect. The audience seemed to love the show and stopped the show with applause after moments such as the great tap number in act 2.It was never slow, or boring, except for some work that i admit needs to be done on shortening some of the gags especially in act 2, some of them go on for way too long. Also why is Angie Schworer who was a lead in the producers on Broadway and LA being wasted as a chorus girl? Overall though It was just a really fun show that makes for a great night out at the theater, and im sure it will do great in NY. Go See It!!

Obviously from that review there is nothing wrong with the show at all. Hmmm... isn't this a tryout? I smell a rat here.

I just went to it last night and had a GREAT time!

There were no Annie "Tomorrow" moments, which suited me just fine. Pace of the show was excellent, and the energy from the cast was top-level all the way through.

Heck, I even bought a hoodie with the logo on it. Haven't done that in a LONG time!

I saw it on January 25 and thought it was fantastic...finally Christopher Fitzgerald has a starring role! Beth Leavel is always fantastic.

I'm quite interested in hearing more about this show.

TDC came up on random on my mp3 player and I realized just how much I miss it. What a great show.

Angie is not being wasted at all - it's a talented cast, with talented people.

And, besides, she's an actor who's actually employed! In this day and age, that's a miracle.

When does this show officially open? I'm anxiously awaiting if it will transfer as well as the O'neil piece in Chicago.

It opened Friday night, February 6.
