Quick question for those who were spellers in SPELLING BEE when they saw it (the lucky few) -- where do you keep your Finalist pin? I speak of this, the pin you get for being a speller:
I'm debating what to do with mine. It's different from a signed playbill, souvenir program, or t-shirt in that it doesn't really have much display value or practical purpose.
A friend of mine sent it back to the cast a few weeks later, along with pictures of himself and the cast (so they might remember him), and lucky him, they did, and he got the entire pin signed (thin Sharpie, mind you). What to do?

Every once in a while, someone says something that makes you literally laugh or snort out loud. Thanks for doing it today.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 9:26pmi have all sorts of random theatre sh*t littered in my apartment. i wouldn't doubt that it would just stock pile itself along with everything else. though if i had ever gone on stage, i would probably take the back off and make it a magnet for my fridge. that'd be kind of cool...

Why don't you just keep it? It's a souvenir from the show...anything like that is worth keeping.

Posted: 7/30/06 at 10:09pmOoh. This just makes me want to be a speller even more. I keep my pin, from winning lotto on my purse, along with my other broadway button pin things. I'm a dork.

Mine is in my display cabinet, next to some of my autographed playbills, I did have my juice box in there too, but my mother informed me it would eventually melt and leak allover my cabinet...so THAT'S in the fridge, and after I drink it the empty carton will go next to the button...
I save everything musical related, it's sad.

Not exactly; they have to volunteer first, and the four are culled from the larger group.

What helped in Chicago, was that I was really outgoing, and excited about teh show, I had never seen it (I think they like newbies) and the guy was kinda flirting with me....so yeah...lol
if you are a guy, hopefully it will be a girl picking, and vice-versa :)

I've currently misplaced mine.
But...really I have no idea what to do with it, I might just keep it in a drawer next to my empty box of apple juice

Oh my God, during the interview, I lied out of my ASS.
- I said I wasn't going to pursue a major of musical theatre in college.
- I said I'd never seen the show, then followed that with a gawky, "Why, is it good?"
- I said I can laugh if they want me to and not if they don't.
- I said I've been in around three shows. I've been in almost twenty.
- I said I've got 2nd place in my 7th grade spelling bee. Please. I got, like, 8th.
- I said I had a big group coming and I came earlier with my friend. Only two of us all night. :)
Yeah, lying isn't good, but if it'll get me onstage, I'm all for it. :)
