BATMAN: The Musical?

Posted: 10/5/04 at 8:13pmDoes anyone know anything about this? Tim Burton was signed on to direct a broadway show about Batman (with Burton, it actually may have turned out to be more than a theme-park-worthy stunt show), according to a Foxnews article I read last year. The story was going to be based on the first film. What ever happened to it? It would be one of those things that would turn out really awfull or really great, but the idea interested me. Maybe they remembered that the Superman show was a flop (despite the good reviews) and were scared about making it.

Posted: 10/6/04 at 1:55amAlright. Here's the deal. I want you to write my NAME (rockfenris2005) into the SEARCH at the top of the message-board. Then proceed to read all of my replies on Batman the Musical. This musical was to have MUSIC and LYRICS by Jim Steinman - the creator of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell. With him involved, it would have been totally awesome. Unfortunately, his DEBUT musical on Broadway (he had a lot of musicals in Off-Broadway in the 70s) failed spectacularly... and that (apparently) frightened off Warner Bros. I've tried to contact them about the project but they have consistently ignored or eluded me.

Firstly, he RECYCLED (the tune) for that Air Supply song from a musical he wrote with Ray Errol Fox called THE CONFIDENCE MAN. Secondly, the Barry Manilow song was originally recorded by Meat Loaf. I hate Manilow's rendition (but they were good friends). Ask me anything about Jim's career. I'm sure to know it. And I hope Batman happens, as well as Bat Out of Hell 2100 and all the rest
