I couldn't be happier it's opening in San Francisco.

That, plus the opening of Jersey Boys Tour, A Chorus Line, Legally Blonde... SF sure is getting the goods!

Well WickedGeek, I don't know if you had the delight of seeing Patti C as Margaret. She was fantastic! maybe the best performance I have ever seen on Broadway.

What a gorgeous interview! For those of you who haven't read it yet, read it. Christine Andreas totally relates to Margaret Johnson and "gets" her down to a T. This role is in good hands. I wish her and the entire touring production the best!

what a well spoken, intelligent and strong woman. I kept re-reading over her quotes because they were just so true. Something about the way she says things makes you go... "yeah, that's right. she gets it."

great article. and fabulous picture! i can't imagine she'll be anything less than amazing in this role.

I already love the way she talks about the character of Margaret. I really want to see her in this now.

And yes, Andreas is FAR prettier than this (bad) photo shows her to be. What's up with the unflattering angle, body position, and clingy dress?

It hurts to not see Vicki or Patti. I miss that show so much. I kind of don't even want to see her or the tour because it isn't "the same" or "right," but I kind of do because I miss that show so much. Does that make any sense at all...?

I miss and love Piazza dearly. But seeing someone other than Patti (my personal favorite) or Vicki just doesn't seem right. The show is going to have to be redone to be set for proscenium stages and not that glorious Beaumont 3/4 thrust, so the set and staging and whatnot will surely not be the same. And well, there's no Kelli (or Katie) or Sarah! (But David will be there...)

I would love to see it again, but even though I love the show itself, I will miss so many things from the broadway production that maybe just keeping the images and memories of that in tact are for the better.

Perhaps it only makes sense to me; if so, oh well. But, that show was special to me, especially because of Patti. Perhaps it's juvenile but Patti Cohenour is "my Margaret" and it breaks my heart to think of anyone else besides her, or Vicki, playing the role - anyone other people playing those roles, the set not looking the same.

The tour cast is absolutely superb in every way, the book and the music are still gorgeous...and although it might be a somewhat different Piazza - it will be more than well worth seeing on tour... despite deep loyalty to its previous incarnation (although it is understandable that some may prefer to hold on to their memories of the perfect past at the Beaumont unaffected by a new production...yes, very understandable).

But I cannot imagine not ending up adoring Andreas, Shaddow and particularly Burnham (EVEN if they were to perform it in a black box!)

I know Christine, I did a master class with her last year and we had this sort of connection. I talk to her through email and she is going to be wonderful in this production. Her acting is going to be so believable, she is an truly is an amazing actress and I have gotten some great tips from her. She looks beautiful in the picture and she will be amazing in this role, I can't wait to see the tour.
