Hey Jay, apparently you weren't the only person filming (although the audio on these isn't as good). But look what I found! :)

Oh god, I just made the mistake of listening to "Younger Than Springtime".
How the hell am I supposed to go to work now with that echoing in my head?? It's gonna be a loooong day.... but thank you, andi, for finding that.
Holy holy holy crap. That is one of my favorite showtunes of all time and I simply cannot deal with this. And yet here I am listening to it grinning like a moron. It's got a lot of the gentler colors of his voice that we don't hear much, but that I love. And Old Red Hills of Home! I can't take it. Ahh.
(The chatter is awkward. He sounds so nervous.)
I have been hoping for Raul to go back to the Chatterbox for years. That last one was during my first... month or two in New York, I believe, and it was one of my favorite things I did that year. I think I was still adjusting the idea of, "Oh, I can do all this stuff now!" Honestly, though, who needs the interview portion as much as he should just do a "Raul Sings His Audition Book" concert.

Bye, focus.
If anybody can figure out how to save this, seriously, grabby hands. Please and thank you.

He sounds very young in "Younger than Springtime"!
And it doesn't seem like there is any video of the ACW song? Pity -
Eh. There's video from New York.

Can I just say how nice it is to see this thread on the first page again?
andi, I have John Barrowman's version as well, but I much prefer the orchestrations and- god help me- Clay's voice on this song. John Barrowman's just seems too anemic. I want the big Menken-Disney music.
Liking Clay is not a crime!

I digress.
Bigger. (--> better.)

Growin' that hair for Jonas Nightengale!
Yes, because it needs to be down to his shoulders in September. =P

In fact, yes, my sources tell me Jonas will have a mullet, as all suave New York City con men do.
You can all cry now.

Let's chip in and buy him a mullet wig instead.
Are you discriminating against real mullets?
If Jonas is going to have a mullet, he has to have a beard, too!
So if he doesn't have a mullet, he won't have a beard. And since he won't have a mullet, well, team no-beard wins. :)

A mullet AND a beard is just too much hair for me - and yes - DOWN WITH MULLETS!
Maybe they will get radical and decide Jonas needs a beard but NO mullet! I could be very happy with that.
Veto.
Interesting interview with Raul in a Spanish newspaper. I found my rusty Spanish adequate to get the gist of it. I think my favorite part was his comment about not changing his name - "If they (the audience) can pronounce 'Schwarzenegger' they can pronounce 'Esparza'". LOL!
You can get a rather rough translation of the article at babelfish, who for some unknown reason decided to translate "Esparza". It came out as "Scatters".
Raul Esparza El Actor Cubano-Americano
If you really want to put it into a translator, freetranslation.com is a little better than babelfish, but honestly, they all suck. Because of the phrasing and inversion of syntax, they make it almost impossible to come up with a sensical translation. You're better off just looking up words that trip you up here and there if you have even an elementary knowledge of the language.
Once upon a time, I had a lot of difficulty with his name -- not because it's hard, but because apparently I was convinced that there was an extra "a" in there somewhere. Sorry, R.
