In case you couldn't be bothered to click on the link - he was a high school wrestler and got injured. Asked his coach if he could try out for the school musical and the rest is history.
That coach still coaches at that school if you want to write and thank him! :)

Whats even more gross is the fact that VIN DEISEL wanted to do a remake of G&D about three years ago. He wanted to play skye. Thankfully it never got passed the production stage
