I've never seen a show at CSC, and I know they sold out of subscriptions this year. So are we thinking Passion is gonna sell out at noon when the tickets go on sale? I really want to see it but I'm worried about the price point, I'm assuming with such a small space the entre theatre is one price. And if it sells out they won't sell rush at all. Uuugh I don't know want to do, advise? Opinions? Thoughts? To buy or not to buy.

There were three different price points for IVANOV.

I highly doubt it will sell out, let alone instantly. I can't remember a CSC show in the past few years that wasn't on TDF at least semi-regularly.

ETA: Here is the pricing from the new casting article on Playbill:

Tickets are $75 on Tuesday through Thursdays (select sides at $60) and $80 Friday through Sunday (select sides at $65).

I remember for Ivanov they eventually added in a $125 premium pricing level for the center area of the first few rows.

People also assumed CARRIE would sell out last year. I can't imagine PASSION (of all shows) would sell out.

I'm getting nervous seeing people talk about the possibility of a lighting-fast sellout, since that never occurred to me until today. I have to see this, but now planning that includes plane tickets, etc. Hopefully I'll be okay.

Having never been to CSC, I'm curious: Is it arena seating? The center orchestra is being priced at $125 already. Wondering if it's worth sitting off to the side?

I have been a CSC subscriber for a number of years ... even their bad stuff is well-done.

Passion may sell out eventually (if it gets spectacular reviews), but it will not sell out TODAY ... this week ... or even this month.

The seating is arena style, and the direction is always quite sensitive to that. You do not need to spring for the premium $125 seats; the view is just fine anywhere in the $80 area. I would recommend avoiding the select sides ($60) -- those views are quite oblique.

For what it's worth--I just bought tix for Friday, the 22nd. Nothing available in the center, pretty good selection of the $80 side seats.

whatever2: Is Row A too close 'level' with the stage? Would B be sufficient enough (eitiher at Center or from the Sides)?

Row A is very immersive, but mostly in a positive way. It's a very intimate setting.

If you like just a little space between yourself and the action, go with Row B. The seats incline fairly steeply, and i've *never* had a problem seeing over the head in front of me.

again, as long as you avoid the "orange" seats (the select sides, the sides are fine. if you're a little high maintenance (as am i!) you might avoid the "outer" half of the sides. also, the stage left side (the smaller of the two) is a bit more oblique than the stage right side ... the stage left side is closer to the door, but if i can't do center i go for the stage right side.

but, really -- any of the light blue seats are good.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and try Student Rush on this one. It didn't even cross my mind that this show would sell out until just reading it now, so I hope it's not a possibility (for our sake) but definitely wish them a very successful run!

We got our tix, row B center aisle.

I'm sure tix will be available until opening. Then, depending on the reviews, may sell out quickly. A rave, even just for Kuhn's performance, could push this to a sellout.

Forgive my inquisitiveness: Anyone know if Row A of the 'Premium Seats' has been made available? Is the stage at CSC deep? Maybe sitting farther back would suffice?

RE: Row A -- Is it 'on the floor', or 'raised' like the other seats?

Row A is on the floor. I'm fairly certain that the $125 prime center seats are only Rows B and C, roughly seats 103-115 (the first six or so seats on either side of the center aisle). Row A is the lower $80-75 price level and I'd imagine that all of those seats are used for subscribers, being released closer to the performance date if unused.

Mike ... you're over-thinking this.

Row A is level with the stage -- both are floor-level.

The configuration is arena style, so it's tough to know how to answer your question about depth. the stage area is as deep as the two side seating sections are long. everything ends at at a brick wall in the back. (actors enter and exit through a narrow passage between the end of the side sections and the aforementioned brick wall.)

hope this helps.

If I had to choose between Cinderella and Passion, which would you recommend (knowing that no one has really seen this production of Passion but based on reputation and casts)?

I would wait to buy tickets until some people post their reviews here. That way you can get a better idea of where to sit to catch some (possible) Ryan Silverman nudity. Passion tickets

I love that two days after I gave in and bought full price tickets they issued a discount code. And now it is on TDF. I'm trying to translate this lesson into being patient for a Pippin discount code, but that code doesn't seem to be coming.

Don't buy a full priced Pippin ticket. Codes will be coming.
