Wow. The Cleopatra of musicals. You couldn't script the twists and turns this show has taken. Like Charlie Sheen, unpredictable and never dull. But totally crazy.
Addendum: BTW, does any one know if the staff, actors, musicians etc. have to be paid during the temp. closing?
I'm pretty sure they do. It's not like they can go and look for other work. And most of them will be in rehearsals during the closing, which means they're definitely being paid.

what is so good is that composrs lyricists book writer and director all get their money on gross proceeds, so Taymoe bono and edge make a lot of money on this every week, not to menrion their no doubt considerable upfront creative fees.
and julie will continue to make that as along as it runs.
not that any of them need the money.
i am just quietly happy tha bja with his little tree piece punk band was able to mount a musical that ran for a year and now goes on to other markets. i always thought since nine years ago bono and the edge were a sort of emperor's choice for composers and later when ai became a hit and they mounted it in sf i thought,hu, bja is going to clean their clocks! which, well, ok, is not like they are comparable but way to go, won some tons starred in it ran for a year. not bad for a punk from oakland with little education or opportunity.

Wonder what Alan Cumming and Evan Rachel Wood are thinking about now?
