I saw Sally's Folly in tryout in New Haven right before they renamed it, hired Michael Bennett to re-tool it and it became the much-maligned and underappreciated Ballroom, starring, I do believe, the fabulous Richard Kiley as the widow.
I never saw "Ballroom," but I did like that "50 Cent" song that Rue McClanahan sang in her recent one-woman show (although nothing compares with the original, as sung by Dorothy Hamill).
Wait,
50 Cent was in Ballroom? I always knew there was more to him than bullet holes.
No no, Ann Reinking sang 50 Percent as the original Miss Hannigan in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.
No. He was in the "Raisin in the Sun" revival, along with Tempestt Bledsoe and Audrey Meadows.
Are you sure that wasn't THE TEMPEST with Meadowlark Lemon and Gene Autry?
I'm pretty sure Meadowlark Lemon was in the Baker's Wife.
The Baker's Wife? Isn't that the Into the Woods spin-off that Joanna Gleason did back in the early 90s?
Was that before or after "The Honeymooners"?
"*lol* This is great! *lol*"
Personally, I never saw the original Lol Abner, but I heard the guy who played Pappy Yokum was great in "Facts of Life".
Or was he Barney Fyfe?
