I say give them a chance. There was a lot of skepticism about Aiken, but I enjoyed his performance so much (along with everyone else) that I went back a second time just before he left. He was even looser & funnier by then, even tho the first time he did fine. I've never seen Collins in a comedy, tho.... Lachey can dance well & sing OK, but act? Let's see...

I heard that Hannah was leaving later this month - has that changed?

The biggest loss will be when Rick Holmes leaves... that guy rocks.

"Isn't Hannah Waddingham supposed to be leaving soon as well? Not sure this news bodes well for Spamalot at all."

Hannah's last performance is June 15th as her Visa runs out.

I can see Stephen Collins as the King, but after seeing David Hibbard, love me some David Hibbard, as Patsy I just cannot see Drew Lachey pulling that one off.

I think the both of them are interesting choices, but I think they might do well. I hope they are still in when Merle joins the cast in the fall so I can see them!

I assumed Waddingham was sticking around until Merle Dandridge came in. So, anyone know who will play the Lady of the Lake in that (roughly) two month interim? Please god, tell me it won't be Emily Hsu, the horrendous cover.

Incidentally, Waddingham was out Saturday evening and Sunday evening this past week (she may also have been out of the matinees, I don't know).

Collins was good enough to sing Sondheim in the original PUTTING IT TOGETHER. I think he can handle SPAMALOT.

A Hollywood doing Star Trek is like a New York actor doing Law and Order. Updated On: 6/2/08 at 10:25 PM

can i just vent? i mean, drew lachey is a fair talent (with amazing arms), but PATSY?! i mean, come on. i just don't think it's the right part for him. i mean, if they are looking to cast an amazing and charismatic crooner for the role of PATSY, they should look at someone like Mike Harrison. He's a bit of an unknown, but he can outsing both of the Lacheys any day.

that's all.
