Yes, I was exclusively talking about actors salary, not what Mr. Haines or any other "producers" at Roundabout make, nor how their financing otherwise works. And that actors salary is quite low to what a name star like Kristin would make in a commercial production per week. At Roundabout. I have no idea what Lincoln Center pays, or MTC for their Broadway productions. They might have an entirely different payment structure.
That amount seems pretty pathetic but then again they could have said no.

I agree. While the pay is surprising low, nobody forced them to accept the gig.
Further, over the next couple of years - this could easily result in a couple more voice-over gigs, or invitations from private organizations to sing at a gala, etc.
I suspect hosting the Tony's was probably worth in excess of $100,000 in lifetime earnings to both Chenoweth and Cumming.
